Other notable features on Madcap is his appearance in The West Country's IDJ Magazine January 2004 after winning "Mix Tape of the Month" The competitions certainly helped and has continued to get him bookings throughout the UK. Madcap has had several long term residencies in Oxford, London, Aylesbury, Birmingham & High Wycombe. Over the years Madcap has had the pleasure of being invited for guest slots at events up & down the country including London, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Bristol, Gloucster, Leicester, Birmingham, Oxford & Exmouth to name a few. Bergen orgelsommer - Bergen International Organ Festival - Mariko Takei in St. John's Church (Johanneskirken)
St. John's Church, normally the most visible church in Bergen, Johanneskirken is currently hidden behind scaffolding as it undergoes restoration. Inside, however, its splendour remains intact. Consecrated in 1894, the church houses a historic organ by Schlag & Söhne, restored in 1999 and cherished by organists for German Romantic repertoire. Mariko Takei is a native of Japan and has been based in Bergen for nearly three decades. She serves as Cantor of Johanneskirken in Bergen and maintains an active international concert career, presenting a diverse and wide-ranging repertoire. Further program details will be announced at a later date. - BuchenBergen14.07.2026

Catguts & Horsetails
A close, atmospheric intimate concert in Tivoli at Cornerteateret – where the audience sits near, the bar is within reach, and the music gets to breathe right up close to you. Catguts & Horsetails are a dangerous duo in the cabaret noir landscape, and invite you into a dark, seductive universe where the melancholy beautiful meets the raw and boundless. With gallows humour, raw nerve and unexpected elegance they serve stories of alcohol, sex, violence and death – all woven together in strong melodic lines and intense lyrical delivery. This is music that creeps under the skin. The duo, consisting of Anlaug Fantoft Grutle (vocals, cello, concertina and ukulele) and Hanne Mjøs Persen (accordion, double bass and percussion), creates a distinctive soundscape that both entices and challenges. In the Tivoli format you get up close to both the performers and the expression – here there is little that hides behind stage edges and distance. Perhaps with a glass in hand, perhaps leaning slightly forward in the chair, you let yourself be drawn into a universe that is equal parts beautiful, dark and uncomfortably captivating. In Norwegian. - BuchenBergen19.06.2026 - 20.06.2026
