Fløya is a mountain, towering over Svolvær in Lofoten with the famous and characteristic Svolværgeita in front. On the hike up to this mountain you will pass Djevelporten («The Devil’s Gate”), which is a large rock stuck in a gorge. There are also Sherpa stairs, called Djeveltrappa («The Devil’s Stairs») - an attraction in itself.

Fløya is a mountain, towering over Svolvær in Lofoten with the famous and characteristic Svolværgeita in front. On the hike up to this mountain you will pass Djevelporten («The Devil’s Gate”), which is a large rock stuck in a gorge. There are also Sherpa stairs, called Djeveltrappa («The Devil’s Stairs») - an attraction in itself.

Titel: Epitaph. Material: Naturstein. Höhe 5 m, Durchmesser 8,5 m. Zylinderförmig. Künstler: Toshikatsu Endo, Japan T. Endos Skulpturen gehen oft vom Kreis als Grundfigur aus. Der Kreis symbolisiert ewige Gesetzmäßigkeiten eines Zeitbegriffs, der sich vom linearen Denken des Westens unterscheidet.

Skulpturlandschaft Nordland - Moskenes
Titel: Lorbeerblätter - Moskenes. Zwei Reliefwände aus Aluminium, 273 x 266 und 312 x 266 cm. Künstlerin: Cristina Iglesias, Spanien. Mit Lorbeerblätter - Moskenes wird die von der Natur geformte "Teufelshöhle" (Djevlegrotten) markiert. Die Künstlerin hat auf jeder Seite des Höhleneingangs eine Reliefwand aufsgestellt, um die Mystik und Besonderheit der Höhle zu unterstreichen. Die Umgestaltung des Ortes zum Kunstwerk besagt etwas über den Drang des Menschen zum Schönen. Hier wurde die Idee des Schönen aus den Mustern und sich wiederholenden Formen der Natur abgeleitet, die nach den Worten der Künstlerin eine "Landschaft in der Landschaft" oder "ein Muster unter den von der Vegetation gebildeten Mustern" darstellen.

Titel: Das Nest. Höhe der Säulenformen 25 cm, Durchmesser 85 cm, Durchmesser des Eis 25 cm. Künstler: Luciano Fabro, Italien. Luciano Fabro nannte Das Nest ein Monument für die Vögel. Die Skulptur, deren Formen aus Natur und Kultur stammen, steht auf einer Insel, wo die Vögel brüten. Die Eier symbolisieren den Beginn des Lebens, die klassische Säule erinnert an vergangene Glanzzeiten.

Titel: Kopf. Aus Eisen und Granit Künstler: Markus Raetz, Schweiz. Markus Raetz’ Kunst handelt vom Sehen, vom Beobachten der Dinge um uns herum. Wir werden daran erinnert, daß auch sonst im Leben Überraschungen nicht ausbleiben, wenn wir die Augen offenhalten. Die Skulptur in Eggum verändert ihre Form und damit auch ihren Inhalt sechzehnmal, wenn man um sie herumgeht. An einer Stelle sieht sie aus wie ein klassisches Porträt, an einer anderen Stelle wie ein Kopf, der «auf dem Kopf» steht.

Ohne Titel. Aus Glas und rostfreiem Stahl. Höhe: 2,5 m. Künstler: Dan Graham, USA. Welche Rolle spielt der Betrachter bei der Begegnung mit einem Kunstwerk? Der Künstler beantwortet diese Frage durch ein konkretes Herangehen an die skulpturelle Struktur. In seinen Pavillons mit Glas- und Spiegelwänden werden die Betrachter sich über ihren konkreten Standort und ihr Verhältnis zu den durchscheinenden und reflektierenden Wänden der Skulptur im klaren. In der Begegnung mit der Skulptur von Lyngvær sind die Landschaftsszenen im Umfeld, die sich auf den Wandflächen widerspiegeln, und der Standort des Betrachtenden das Wesentliche.

The Blacksmith of sund / Sund Fisherymuseum - Entrance
There is something reminiscent of a fairy tale about the story of one of Lofoten's oldest tourist attractions. Operations at the museum and the smithy have been kept as is since the two were established by Hans Gjertsen in 1947. The official opening of the museum took place in 1964, but the groundwork was laid in 1963 with the opening of the E10 road (King Olav V's Way). As one of the pioneers of tourism in Lofoten, the blacksmith Hans Gjertsen carried out the marketing stunt of a lifetime during the opening ceremony. He literally forced his way through the crowd to King Olav V, in order to present him with his work of art, the Cormorant. Hans had asked for permission in advance, but had been refused by the organisers. The King, on the other hand, was clearly rather curious about the voice that rang out above the crowd, uttering the words: "Excuse me King! Can I give you a cormorant?" The rest is history.

Fløya is a mountain, towering over Svolvær in Lofoten with the famous and characteristic Svolværgeita in front. On the hike up to this mountain you will pass Djevelporten («The Devil’s Gate”), which is a large rock stuck in a gorge. There are also Sherpa stairs, called Djeveltrappa («The Devil’s Stairs») - an attraction in itself.

Die arktische Natur ist extrem sensibel. Bleiben Sie auf markierten Wegen, nutzen Sie öffentliche Toiletten, und hinterlassen Sie keinen Müll.

In Norwegen gilt vom 15. April bis zum 15. September ein generelles Verbot für offenes Feuer (auch Bålforbud genannt). Das betrifft Lagerfeuer, offene Feuerstellen, Einweggrills und ähnliche Feuerstellen mit offenen Flammen. So werden Waldbrände verhindert.

Die Lofoten sind wunderschön – aber auch die Heimat vieler Menschen. Fotografieren Sie niemanden ohne Erlaubnis und kaufen Sie lokal ein, um die Gemeinschaft zu unterstützen. Einige Straßen sind schmal und haben Ausweichbuchten im Falle von Gegenverkehr – bitte nicht zum Parken nutzen!

Mit dem Flugzeug
Es gibt häufige und regelmäßige Flugverbindungen aus allen großen Städten Norwegens zu den Flughäfen Bodø, Harstad/Narvik, Svolvær, Leknes und Røst.
Die Flugzeit von Oslo nach Bodø beträgt ungefähr 1,5 Stunden. In 20 bis 30 weiteren Flugminuten (oder 3 bis 4 Stunden mit dem Schiff) geht’s von hier weiter auf die Lofoten. Von Harstad/Evenes erreichen Sie die Lofoten mit dem Auto oder Bus in 2,5 bis 4 Stunden.
Zwischen Bodø und Værøy verkehrt außerdem ein Helikopter-Service.

Mit dem Auto erreichen Sie die Lofoten auf verschiedenen Wegen. Nehmen Sie eine der Autofähren von Bodø (ganzjährig) oder von Skutvik auf Hamarøy (im Sommer).
Vom Festland aus können Sie auch eine Fähre nördlich der Lofoten oder von Schweden aus nehmen.

Mit dem Bus
Von Narvik, Bodø und Harstad fahren täglich öffentliche Busse nach Svolvær. Der Flughafenbus verkehrt ebenfalls regelmäßig zwischen den Flughäfen Harstad/Narvik in Evenes und Lofoten-Svolvær.
Von Narvik und dem Flughafen Lofoten/Harstad/Narvik verkehren täglich öffentliche Busse nach Svolvær, Leknes und Å (Linie 300). Zudem gibt es Busverbindungen von Svolvær nach Sortland auf den Vesterålen-Inseln.

Mit der Bahn
Zwischen Stockholm, Kiruna und Narvik gibt es ganzjährig tägliche Zugverbindungen. Von Narvik kommen Sie dann mit dem Bus auf die Lofoten.
Sie können auch zuerst den Zug von Oslo nach Trondheim nehmen und dann von Trondheim mit der Nordlandbahn nach Bodø reisen. Die Fahrt dauert etwa 10 Stunden. In Bodø können Sie eine Fähre oder ein Schnellboot auf die Lofoten nehmen.

Mit dem Schiff
Zwischen Bodø, Svolvær, und Værøy verkehren Express-Passagierboote täglich.
In Bodø gibt es darüber hinaus Autofähren, die auf verschiedene Inseln der Lofoten übersetzen oder zwischen den Inseln hin- und herfahren.
Die Schiffe der norwegischen Küstenlinie Hurtigruten ankern täglich in Stamsund und Svolvær auf den Lofoten-Inseln. Auch Havila Voyages hält sowohl auf der Süd- als auch auf der Nordroute in diesen Orten.

Öffentlicher Nahverkehr
Die Hauptstraße E10 (König-Olav-Straße) verbindet den Westen und Osten der Lofoten. Das Reisen mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erfordert etwas Planung – vor allem, wenn man an einen Ort abseits der E10 will. Werfen Sie besser einen Blick auf die Fahrpläne.
