Ein traumhafter Roadtrip auf Andøya
Andøya liegt im hohen Norden der Vesterålen in Nordnorwegen.
Die Landschaftsroute von Andøya verläuft entlang der Westküste der Insel und verbindet Andenes im Norden mit Bjørnskinn im Süden.
Sie können ein Auto am Flughafen oder ein Fahrrad in einem der örtlichen Hotels mieten. Diese 58 Kilometer lange Strecke ist wirklich ein Traum für Radfahrer – meistens geht es flach dahin, durch herrliche und abwechslungsreiche Küstenlandschaften.
Widerøe bietet Direktflüge von Tromsø und Bodø zum Flughafen Andøya sowie internationale Verbindungen zum Flughafen Harstad/Narvik in Evenes, der nur zwei Stunden entfernt liegt. Im Sommer gibt es Direktflüge von Oslo nach Andøya mit der Fluglinie Norwegian.
Hurtigruten legt das ganze Jahr über zweimal täglich bei Risøyhamn auf Andøya an. Im Sommer verkehrt außerdem eine tägliche Fähre zwischen Andenes auf Andøya und Gryllefjord auf Senja.
Es gibt zudem Busverbindungen von Sortland, den Lofoten-Inseln und Narvik.

Auf der Insel befindet sich Norwegens einzige permanente Raketenstation: Andøya Space.
Im Besucherzentrum des Spaceship Aurora lernen Sie alles über das faszinierende Nordlicht und erleben, wie es sich anfühlt, Ihre eigene Rakete zu starten.
Anschließend fahren wir zum Rastplatz Kleivodden, der am Fuße steiler Berge liegt.
Von hier genießen Sie einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den Strand von Bleik, die kegelförmige Insel Bleik und das Meer – so weit das Auge reicht.
Fahren Sie durch den einzigen Tunnel auf Andøya …
… und Sie landen plötzlich an diesem weißen Sandstrand!
Hier gibt es keine Palmen oder tropische Temperaturen, man fühlt sich eher wie in einer Szene aus „Herr der Ringe“. Im Winter ist der Bleikstranda der ideale Ort, um das Nordlicht zu erleben. Im Sommer kann man hingegen tolle Fotos der Mitternachtssonne schießen.
Vom Strand aus sehen Sie zudem die kegelförmige Insel Bleikøya.
Die Insel Bleiksøya ist ein geschäftiges Vogelschutzgebiet und die Heimat einer der größten Papageientaucherkolonien Norwegens! Erleben Sie die Insel aus nächster Nähe bei einer geführten Safari.

Vom Berg Måtind – dem höchsten Punkt an der Küste – hat man die beste Aussicht.
Wenn Sie das Dorf Stave erreicht haben, können Sie die dampfend heißen Pools und Strandsaunen auf dem Campingplatz genießen und dabei den Wellen lauschen. Ein wohltuendes Erlebnis für Körper und Seele.

Verpassen Sie nicht den kleinen Leuchtturm Børhella fyr, nur einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Parkplatz entfernt.
