Lassen Sie sich von den „Königinnen der Eisenbahn“, den berühmten zugfahrenden Zwillingen Halldis und Gudrun Folkedal, die Bergenbahn zeigen…

Die Reise beginnt

…am Osloer Hauptbahnhof…

...weiter ruckelt und zuckelt man dann gen Westen durch die Vororte Asker, Bærum und Drammen, bevor es in die Natur geht.

1. Das Tal Hallingdal

Nach etwa zwei Stunden Fahrt erreichen wir den Bahnhof Flå im atemberaubenden Hallingdal, einem Ausflugsziel für die ganze Familie.

Grüßen Sie die Bären im Bärenpark Bjørneparken, etwa zwei Kilometer vom Bahnhof entfernt. Hier können Sie unter anderem auch seltene Amur-Leoparden sowie Elche, Luchse und Krokodile sehen.

Dann passiert der Zug Nesbyen und erreicht Gol, mit guten Busverbindungen (30 Minuten) nach…

...Hemsedal: Im Winter eines der besten Skigebiete Norwegens, finden Sie hier im Sommer ein Wanderparadies.

Lust auf einen Adrenalinschub? Dann probieren Sie den coolen Klettersteig aus oder gehen Sie Downhill-Mountainbiken!

Hallingdal ist ein Eldorado für Mountainbiker, und in der Nähe der meisten Stationen können Sie Fahrräder mieten.

Weiter geht´s dann nach Ål, wo Radfahrer nicht nur die perfekte Unterkunft sondern auch MTB-Strecken, Pisten und Pumptracks finden.

Auch der Hallingdal Feriepark ist nur wenige Gehminuten vom Bahnhof Ål entfernt…

...dieser Ferienpark ist vollgepackt mit lustigen Aktivitäten für die ganze Familie: ein Kletterpark, Ziplines, ein großes Indoor-Spielland, ein Bauernhof und vieles mehr.

Der Park befindet sich auf einem der besten Campingplätze Norwegens.

2. Geilo

Das Bergdorf Geilo liegt auf halbem Weg zwischen Oslo und Bergen (etwa dreieinhalb Stunden Zugfahrt von beiden Städten entfernt) und ist perfekt für Outdoor-Aktivitäten.

Geilo gehört im Winter zu den beliebtesten Skigebieten Norwegens, während Sie im Sommer…

...den malerischen Prestholtstien-Treppenweg zum Gipfel des Hallingskarvet erklimmen können.

Oder rasen Sie eine der längsten Ziplines Nordeuropas im Geilo Sommerpark hinunter, wo Sie auch Downhill-Mountainbiken und viele andere Aktivitäten ausprobieren können.

Angeln, Reitausflüge und Rafting gehören ebenfalls zum Programm: Die Auswahl ist riesig!

Gönnen Sie sich anschließend einen Besuch in einem der Wellnesshotels von Geilo!

3. Hardangervidda

Nach Geilo klettert der Zug weiter auf die Hochebene Hardangervidda.

Die Route führt an den Stationen Ustaoset und Haugastøl vorbei, die in einer atemberaubenden Naturlandschaft hoch oben in den Bergen liegen. Und dann kommt Gudruns Lieblingsstation…

Das kleine Bergdorf Finse ist nur mit dem Zug erreichbar.

Von hier (oder von Haugastøl) können Sie im Sommer entlang der vielleicht schönsten Radroute Norwegens radeln, dem Rallarvegen. Im Winter können Sie zum Beispiel Snowkiten ausprobieren.

Übernachten Sie im gemütlichen Hotel Finse 1222, wo Sie auch Ski, Kites und Fahrräder ausleihen und an geführten Touren teilnehmen können.

Der Zug fährt nun wieder die Berge hinunter.

4. Fjord Norwegen

Die historische und berühmte Flåmbahn bringt Sie hinunter in das Dorf Flåm am Aurlandsfjord.

Diese Bahnfahrt ist ein Teil der Rundreise Norway in a Nutshell, zu der auch eine Sightseeing-Kreuzfahrt auf dem UNESCO-geschützten Nærøyfjord gehört.
