Holmenkollen Skifestival
Das Festival lockt jeden März Tausende von Zuschauern nach Oslo und gehört zu den berühmtesten Wintersportevents der Welt. Auf dem Programm stehen Skispringen, Langlauf und Nordische Kombination.
Zusätzlich zu den Wettbewerben bietet das Festival eine Reihe von Aktivitäten für Besucher, darunter Skikurse, geführte Touren und kulturelle Veranstaltungen. Besucher können sich auch auf einer kleineren Anfänger-Schanze selbst im Skispringen versuchen.
Birkebeinerrennet
Zwischen den Städten Rena und Lillehammer steigt jeden März ein legendäres Langlaufrennen – über 15.000 Teilnehmer duellieren sich auf 54 Kilometern.
Die Atmosphäre beim Birkebeinerrennet ist spannungsgeladen, Tausende von Zuschauern feuern die Langläufer an. Das Wettrennen ist ein echter Test für Entschlossenheit, Ausdauer und Stärke. Wer durchkommt, empfindet ein unglaubliches Gefühl der Erfüllung.
In den Sommermonaten wird auch ein Wettrennen zu Fuß und mit dem Rad veranstaltet.
Ekstremsportveko
Auch als Extremsportwoche bekannt, gehört das jährliche Ekstremsportveko in Voss zu den weltweit größten und bekanntesten Extremsportfestivals.
Athleten, Fans und Zuschauer aus aller Welt können sich Ende Juni auf eine Vielzahl an aufregenden Extremsportarten und Aktivitäten freuen, darunter Paragliding, Longboarding, Rafting, Klettern, Basejumping und vieles mehr.
Midnight Sun Marathon
Der Midnight Sun Marathon ist ein jährlicher Marathon in Tromsø, einer Stadt im hohen Norden Norwegens. Er ist ein malerischer und weltweit einzigartiger Marathon.
Ende Juni geht die Sonne in Tromsø nie unter – das Phänomen der Mitternachtssonne sorgt für helle Nächte und eine magische Atmosphäre. Das Wettrennen bietet verschiedene Distanzen, darunter einen Marathon, einen Halbmarathon, ein 10-Kilometer-Rennen und ein Kinderrennen.
Norway Cup
Der Norway Cup in Oslo ist eines der weltweit größten Jugendfußballturniere. Jedes Jahr nehmen Ende Juli Mannschaften aus der ganzen Welt an diesem internationalen Wettbewerb teil. Die einwöchige Veranstaltung ist seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1972 ein fester Bestandteil des internationalen Kalenders im Jugendfußball.

Arctic Race of Norway
Dieses professionelle Straßenradrennen findet jeden August in Nordnorwegen statt. Das Wettrennen führt durch einige der schönsten Landschaften Norwegens und zieht Spitzenfahrer aus der ganzen Welt an.
Das Arctic Race of Norway ist mehr als nur ein Radrennen – es ist ein Festival der spektakulären Natur und der einzigartigen Kultur Nordnorwegens. Sowohl für Radfahrer als auch für Zuschauer ist dies ein unvergessliches Erlebnis in einer der atemberaubendsten und entlegensten Ecken Europas.
Der Norseman Xtreme Triathlon
Der Norseman Xtreme Triathlon gilt als einer der schwierigsten Triathlons der Welt. Das Wettrennen beginnt jeden August am Hardangerfjord, wo die Teilnehmer von einer Fähre springen und 3,8 Kilometer bis zum Ufer schwimmen. Die Radetappe führt über 180 Kilometer durch anspruchsvolles Terrain, darunter auf den berühmten „Zombie Hill“ – ein 10 Kilometer langer steiler Anstieg mit Steigungen von bis zu 10 Prozent. Die letzte Etappe des Wettrennens ist ein Marathonlauf. Das Ziel befindet sich auf dem Gipfel des Gaustatoppen, 1850 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel.
Das Wettrennen hat ein einzigartiges Format, bei dem es keine Versorgungsstationen gibt und weder Windschattenfahren noch Unterstützung von außen erlaubt sind. Die Teilnehmer müssen ihre gesamte Ausrüstung, Verpflegung und Wasser selbst tragen und haben eine Begleitmannschaft, die sie auf dem Weg unterstützt.
Oslo Marathon
Der beliebte Marathon führt die Läufer jeden September durch die Straßen von Oslo, vorbei an vielen der berühmten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt.
Eine Vielzahl von Teilnehmern sind dabei, von Eliteläufern, die eine schnelle Zeit erreichen wollen, bis hin zu Marathonanfängern, die die Strecke zum ersten Mal absolvieren möchten. Die Veranstaltung ist offen für Teilnehmer aller Fähigkeiten und Altersgruppen, und die inklusive Atmosphäre ist ein wesentlicher Teil der Faszination der Veranstaltung.

An attraction and tradition in Bergen! Spend a full day and join a walk on the seven mountains surronding Bergen. The total hike is 35 kilometers and the ascent is around 2400 meters. The start is at Gravdal (by Nutec) between 05:30 and 09:15 and you walk the following mountains: Lyderhorn, Damsgårdsfjellet, Løvstakken, Ulriken, Fløyen, Rundemann, Sandviksfjellet and the end is at Skansemyren. If seven mountains is a bit too much, then there is a 4 mountain obtion. The 4-mountains Hike starts at Årstad and you walk over Ulriken, Fløyen, Rundemanen and Sandviksfjellet. The legendary Birkebeiner ski race (Birkebeinerrennet), a unique ski race over two mountain (53 km) The legendary Birkebeiner ski race is a cross-country race starts at Rena, and finish at Birkebeiner Ski Stadium in the Olympic town of Lillehammer. The 53 km, classic technic, race crosses two mountains, and the track takes you through breathtaking sceneries. All participants must carry a backpack weighing at least 3.5 kg throughout the race. The Lillehammer region has a very stable climate with good winters and a lot of snow. The mountains and the meeting with Norwegian nature makes Birken attractive to foreigners as well as to Norwegians. With its track, wild snow, profile and demanding mountains makes it a real challenge to all XC skiers and a rite of passage under tough conditions. The Birkebeiner races - the historical background The Birkebeiner races are based on the historic event of the rescue of Haakon Haakonsson. There was a civil war in Norway. After the birkebeiner chieftain Haakon died on New Years Day in 1204, the baglers saw a dangerous rival pretender in his son Haakon Haakonsson , who was born in 1204, a few weeks after his fathers death. His life was at stake, and the birkebeiners wanted to bring him to safety in Trondheim. The party came to a small farm at Lillehammer, where they stayed in hiding over Christmas. They found it too risky to follow the route up the Gudbrandsdal valley, so they cut across the mountains to the neighbour valley in east, Østerdalen. Due to bad weather and difficult snow conditions the two best skiers. The 3,5 kilo pack carried by the present day birkebeiners symbolizes the prince, who later became king Haakon. He made an end of the civil war, and under him Norway had a heyday in the Middle Age. The birkebeiner expedition made history.

Am 14. und 15. März 2026 steht eines der großen Highlights der Saison am Holmenkollen auf dem Programm: das traditionsreiche Nordische Wochenende. Mit Langlauf, Skispringen und Nordischer Kombination versammeln sich Athlet*innen und Publikum zu zwei Tagen voller Spannung, Geschichte und Gemeinschaft. Der Samstag wird etwas ganz Besonderes, denn zum ersten Mal wird am Holmenkollen ein Doppel-50-Kilometer-Lauf veranstaltet. Die Männer starten um 10:00 Uhr, bevor die Frauen um 10:30 Uhr loslegen. Dass alle Läufer und Läuferinnen gleichzeitig auf der Strecke sein werden, soll erstmals für mehr Action und sowohl im Stadion als auch entlang der Strecke für Stimmung sorgen. Außerdem kann das Publikum so die klassische Kollen-Atmosphäre in einem neuen und modernen Gewand erleben. Am Sonntag kehrt der legendäre Holmenkollensonntag mit Springen und Kombination auf den ganzen Tag verteilt zurück. Das Publikum kann sich auf viele Stunden mit spektakulären Sprüngen auf der Großschanze freuen, kombiniert mit beeindruckender Ausdauer und taktischen Duellen auf der Langlaufloipe. Diesen Sporttag haben viele vermisst, doch jetzt ist er endlich zurück. Das Wochenende wird ein Fest des Skisports vom Feinsten, bei dem stolze Traditionen auf spannende, neue Konzepte treffen und das Publikum alles erleben kann, wofür der Holmenkollen steht: Gemeinschaft, Leidenschaft und Gänsehautmomente.

Bergen-based Hardanger fiddle player, composer, and award-winning performer Benedicte Maurseth, Kode's Composer-in-Residence for 2026, brings her unique musical universe to the historic outdoor bath Nordnes Sjøbad to create a special session for floating listeners – Borealis' annual concert ritual Music for Sea Bathing. In recent years, Benedicte Maurseth's creative work has largely focused on themes related to biodiversity and ecosophy. The inspiration for her previous works has often come from her home region at Hardangervidda in Eidfjord, where concrete sounds from mountain folk and wildlife have been key elements in the compositions, based on her background in Norwegian folk music and inspired by minimalism and free improvisation. In the Borealis commission Paragorgia, she explores aquatic biodiversity connected to the Hardanger Fjord, Norway's second-longest fjord, an environment that is both vulnerable and under high pressure. Paragorgia is the name of the slow-growing, colorful sea tree considered near-threatened, which lives in deep fjords and seas. The tree can grow several meters tall and form coral forests that are important habitats for other species. In Paragorgia, Maurseth combines Hardanger fiddle, vocals, and compositional ideas with rhythmic and melodic percussion, synthesizer, and electronic sounds, in collaboration with one of Norway's leading percussionists, Håkon Mørch Stene. Together, they honor and interpret the horn coral paragorgia, as well as other vital ecosystems such as coral reefs, bamboo coral, plankton, and other species native to the Hardanger Fjord. Welcome to the final round of the 2026 World Snowcross Championship in Trondheim and Granåsen arena 10th/11th of April 🏁 The Snowcross World Championship in Granåsen will be one of the region’s major winter sports highlights of the year. The world’s best snowcross riders will gather for action-packed World Championship races in the heart of Trondheim – delivering high intensity, a true festival atmosphere, and significant international attention. The event is jointly organized by the clubs MK Trondhjem, Selbu MK and NMK Verdal/Levanger through the company SNX Granåsen AS. Elias Ishoel, the 2025 World Champion who has competed professionally in the USA in recent years, will be involved in building the track to ensure a modern World Championship circuit with high speeds and big, aerial jumps. An estimated 70–100 riders from many different nationalities are expected to participate. There will also be a guest class / exhibition for children aged 5–10 years, meaning that in addition to the world elite, spectators will have the opportunity to see the next generation of riders showcase their skills on the arena. As part of the World Championship program, a Freestyle SNX show will also take place. This segment will be especially spectacular as André Villa – one of the world’s most accomplished FMX athletes – joins the event as an advisor and creative developer. Villa will contribute to the design of an adrenaline-filled freestyle show, set to become one of the event’s major crowd highlights. The FanZone will feature exhibitions and stands, activities, food and beverage sales, and plenty of entertainment taking place inside the “World Championship Tent”. In the evenings, the World Championship Tent will host entertainment and music, culminating on Saturday night with a live concert by Melody Market. Alex Rosén, well known from NRK, will be present throughout the entire World Championship weekend, contributing as a stunt reporter, occasional speaker, and helping to create energy and excitement both on the arena and inside the World Championship Tent.

Tough race up the rough stone stairway from Fjellveien to Sandvikspilen. Sandviksfjellet is a mountain in Bergen, and one of the traditional seven mountains that surround the city centre of Bergen. The mountain is 392 m high. Are you fit enough and over 12 years of age, you are welcome to participate. It is not necessary to be member of any sports team / organization. First time in 1979 there were 50 participants. Now more than 5000 people participate! The track has a gradient of 315.5 meters and consists of 801 steps.

A brutal uphill race with over 300 meters of vertical gain—no breaks, no variation, just 800 meters of relentless climbing. Are you ready for the challenge? Where does it start? Runners start inside the tunnel at the bottom of the Fløibanen track with 10-second interval starts. Open class starts at 18:15, and the seeded group around 19:45. Start orders will guide you to your place and organize you according to your start number. Does Fløibanen close? Fløibanen will be closed during the event from 18:00 to 20:30. Ulriken Opp consists of 3 races/distances; Grieg Oppstemten Opp Starts at 10:30 from the lower station of the Ulriken Cable Car. The route continues up Skotbergkleivane to Montana and then up to "Store steinen" and Oppstemten, with the finish line at Ulriken's summit (upper station of the Ulriken Cable Car). This race has individual starts at 10-second intervals. Drevelin Stormfuglen Trail A trail run starting at Montana and ending at the top of Ulriken. The race covers 5.4 km through varied terrain around Landåsfjellet, including trails, gravel, rough terrain, and elevation changes (mostly uphill). The race has a mass start from Montana at 12:00. Montana Classic Begins at Montana and follows the gravel road up “Oppstemten” to Ulriken. This is the classic event introduced in 2007, featuring both recreational and family participation categories. The recreational class starts at 11:30 (mass start). The family class (without timed tracking) allows flexible start times between 10:00 and 12:00, outside the mass start. Results are sorted by category as well as by gender (Men and Women). The top 3 in the Men’s and Women’s categories receive awards, with a participant prize and medal for all. Registration available at Ulrikenopp.no

UngdomsBirken ski, March 15th 2026 A youth race in nordic classic technique. The track is 15 km and start at Sjusjøen and finish at Birkebeineren Ski stadium, Lillehammer. Participants from age 13-16 (pr 31.12.26). All participants must carry a backpack weighing at least 1.5 kg throughout the race.

Experience a refreshing evening at Skomakerdiket! Just a short walk from Fløibanen’s upper station, along the path between the trees, you’ll find the lake Skomakerdiket. Join us at this idyllic spot and dip into the fresh, cold water. If you haven’t tried winter bathing before, this is your chance to give it a go in safe surroundings together with other enthusiastic bathers. Afterwards, warm up inside the cozy Skomakerstuen, where a delicious soup will be waiting for you by the fireplace. Bring swimwear, bathing shoes/socks, and a towel/bathrobe, and meet us at Skomakerdiket. We are there from 16:00–19:00, so you can join whenever it suits you within that time frame. If the water is covered by ice, we will make arrangements to ensure winter bathing is still possible. Price: NOK 295,– including gluten-free and vegan soup with bread.
