EKSTRA: Sigvart Dagsland – Det er makt i de foldede hender – Bergen kirkeautunnale

Sigvart finally goes on hymn tour again "It is 30 years since my hymn record Det er makt i de foldede hender came out. At the time I was completely unprepared for the reception from the audience, which was quite simply overwhelming. One might have thought it was churchgoers who bought the record and came to the concerts, but it reached a much broader audience. I do not quite know why. But I felt myself that there was a power in these old songs, a power that did not leave me unaffected. And now I have not played them for a long time. And never before have we performed the entire record. But we are doing something about that this year: On the autumn church tour we will simply play the entire record. Live. In addition we play some of the most hymn-like of my own songs, as well as the odd one from the Hymns album. This will be a one-off occasion, and it will be wonderful! With me I have three fantastic musicians: Torjus Vierli on grand piano, David Wallumrød on Hammond organ and Espen Tappel on guitars. This will be fun!" Sigvart This concert is in Norwegian. METALBINGO // Good Omens

On Wednesday, September 23rd, we at Legend Metalfest invite you to Metalbingo at Good Omens. There will be metal all over the place, laughter and fun, a little chaos and opportunities to win a whole bunch of cool prizes. This is individual and is definitely more of a game than a competition. But first, what is Metalbingo? Forget what you think you know about bingo. There will be no Olga 65 or Ivar 23 here. Here it will be Metallica, Celtic Frost, Dissection and Black Sabbath. We play a song, you recognize it and find it in an already given song list. There you will find a number that you will again find on your bingo block. Then there are one-rows, three-rows, three-rows and corners that apply. The songs are played in random order and if you don't recognize any songs, we will help you get the right number in place. In Metalbingo we help each other and we don't move on to the next song until we are sure that everyone has crossed off the correct number on their bingo block. We will inform you in more detail how this works before we start. The first to get a corner, singles, doubles and triples will walk away with the best prizes. Currently, the prize pool consists of LPs, gift cards, headsets, patches, candy, tickets to Legend Metalfest and much more. It costs 50 kroner to join Metalbingo and for that you will get two bingo games and the opportunity to win many prizes. 20 years of military service.

Stemmeklang / NyNorsk Messingkvintett / Parallax / Hannevold – Bergen kirkeautunnale

Down into the ancient crypt, up into the church tower, with works that stretch from birth pains and the depths of the ocean, to high heavens and the sound of angels. The entire building fills with life when some of Norway's most exciting contemporary ensembles invite you to a promenade concert in Nykirken! Stemmeklang performs the work DE PROFUNDIS by Tyler Futrell together with NyNorsk messingkvintett, and the work OSEAN together with Parallax. Parallax and Anders Hannevold give the world premiere of the new work SERAF for guitar, percussion, trumpet, loose organ pipes and organetto portativo. Stemmeklang is a vocal quintet that works with space, sound and acoustics, with music that is in the borderland between contemporary music, improvisation and sonic exploration. The musical moves between voices, sounds, sonic textures and the room's own resonance, where architecture, history and acoustics become an active part of the experience. Kristin Bolstad - vocals Julie Kleive - vocals Linnéa Sundfær Casserly - vocals Karoline Dahl Gullberg - vocals Gabrielle Sørensen - vocals NyNorsk Messingkvintett is a Norwegian brass ensemble that works to explore and renew the classical brass quintet format – often drawing on Nynorsk language, Norwegian traditional material and new music. Jørgen Arnesen - trumpet Oscar Brodahl - trumpet Marie Solum Gran - horn Ingebjørg Bruket - trombone Berger Iver Færder - tuba Parallax has since 2008 created improvised music with an open and exploratory approach, blending among other things jazz, folk music and experimental sound expressions. Torstein Lavik Larsen - trumpet, electronics and a homemade pipe organ Are Lothe Kolbeinsen - prepared guitar, harp and sruti box Ulrik Ibsen Thorsrud - percussion, ceramics, reinforcement iron, styrofoam and misc. Anders Hannevold is interested in how we as individuals assign meaning to art, and uses this as a starting point in his compositions. Hannevold combines different types of notation – such as graphic scores, instruction texts and extended notation systems – and adapts the expression to each work. Hannevold has written SERAF which receives its world premiere at the concert, here he also plays organetto portativo. ––– Before you buy a ticket – consider a concert package! Or are you under 23? Sara Parkman – Bergen kirkeautunnale

«Sara Parkman sings about what is at stake» – Klassekampen Sara Parkman has since her debut in 2016 pushed the boundaries of what folk music can be. Her albums and concerts have time and again been celebrated for weaving together tradition and future. Along the way she has received a number of prestigious awards and had several sold-out tours. Parkman's recently released fourth album Aster, atlas explores the mysterious tradition, what it means to live, and to handle the living. Throughout, Parkman carries with her ora et labora - «The idea of prayer and work I want to be a comfort, a hope and an encouragement in the rather demanding times we live in. We shall continue to work and believe in community.» In Aster, atlas Parkman crosses traditional Norwegian herding calls with the early church's choral tradition, mixed with pulsating electronic music. She describes the music as a garden of sorrow, a garden of beauty – the garden of the body, the sprout and the decay. Eric Whitacre's I Thank You God with text by e. e. cummings, is a bright, majestic and expectant work. The composer describes it as a poem so beautiful and joyful that the music at times almost wrote itself. Caroline Shaw's In manus tuas for cello is inspired by a motet by Thomas Tallis, with the text Into your hands, Lord, I commit my spirit (Psalm 31:5 and Luke 23:46). Per Nørgård's Wie ein Kind is inspired by the art of Adolf Wölfli and Rainer Maria Rilke's spring poem, and opens up a powerful encounter with various childhood memories. The second movement in particular connects to the festival theme through the earthly and childlike, while the third movement expresses a human anxiety in the face of death. Gabriel Fauré's Requiem conveys a bright and peaceful view of death, where the composer himself describes the work as an expression of a quiet faith in rest and redemption. The concert is an honest, human encounter with the existential, and the belief that there is comfort and rest both in life and in death. Programme: Eric Whitacre: Three Songs of Faith III Caroline Shaw: In manus tuas (Amalie Stalheim, cello) Per Nørgård: Wie ein Kind Gabriel Fauré: Requiem (arr. NINE BELOW ZERO to Cafe 3B, Tr.heim, Fred 18 Sep.

NINE BELOW ZERO "A blues-rock train with no brakes – and the crowd won't get off" This is one of the toughest blues-rock bands London has to offer. Established in 1977 and still fronted by Dennis Greaves & Mark Feltham. The band formed in South London in 1977, originally under the name Stan's Blues Band. With an explosive mix of high-energy blues, rock and pub rock, they quickly became a force to be reckoned with on the British live scene The band changed their name to Nine Below Zero in 1979, inspired by Sonny Boy Williamson's classic blues song of the same name. Their reputation quickly grew thanks to their intense live shows. Nine Below Zero broke through with the live album "Live at the Marquee" (1980) – an album that captured the band's incredible energy on stage and became a hit in the midst of the punk wave that was sweeping across England. There's something special about bands that have been going for almost 50 years – they have nothing to prove, but everything to give. Nine Below Zero today turn any stage into a sweaty, pulsating blues club in early 1980s London. Guitarist Dennis Greaves stands as always at the forefront, with his effortless cool and riffs that sit like a cast in the spine. And then we have Mark Feltham, whose harmonica can bring both fur and tears to the audience who really came to stomp the beat with a beer in hand. Nine Below Zero is no longer a young and hungry band – but they still play as if it were their last night on earth. An evening filled with solid craftsmanship. There's something huge about the band's presence – like a compressor that never lets up. Get your ticket today:

"Rest" - soft yoga and meditation concert

This ticket includes a concert in Nidaros Cathedral and soft yoga in the Kirkestuene in Waisenhuset. * The audience is asked to bring their own mat or sleeping pad. About the concert: Imagine entering Nidaros Cathedral on an early autumn evening, rolling out your sleeping mat and lying down on the floor of the mighty cathedral. Perhaps you contemplate the stone sculptures, columns and archways, or perhaps you close your eyes and listen to the silence in the room. Gradually you hear the sound of voices – breath and wordless sounds fill the vaults before they turn into meditative music. You are enveloped in organ sounds and choir singing from different directions. Music that is about rest, and music that makes room for rest. You can experience this together with the eight singers in the Trondheim Vocal Ensemble with conductor Karen Haugom Olsen, Brita Sjöberg on the Steinmeyer organ and Tiina Granum, clarinet. *audiences are asked to bring their own sleeping mats. It will also be possible to sit on chairs. Soft yoga – a landing before "Rest" with Marianne Grønneflåta is a calm and soft yoga class that invites you to land – in your body, in your breath and in the moment. Through simple movements, we give space to come to rest, before we let the movement quiet down and make room for the music in Nidaros Cathedral. Location: Soft yoga will take place in the Church Rooms in Waisenhuset by Nidaros Cathedral. – For me, yoga is primarily about creating space to land – in the body and in the moment. After many years of experience, I am committed to creating a practice that is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, experience and physical starting point. Through soft movements and breathing, we invite you to a time with less pace, more presence and calm, says Marianne Grønneflåta. Limited number of places.

    Mozart & Bruckner

    – classic elegance and romantic storms of emotion Conductor: Anthony Hermus Soloist, piano: Christian Ihle Hadland Program Wolfgang A. Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 26 Anton Bruckner: Symphony No. 7 About the concert The contrasts in tonight's concert are great, from Mozart's sparkling Coronation Concerto to Bruckner's majestic masterpiece of a symphony, from light-footed piano playing to heartfelt brass chorale. Twenty years ago, in 2006, Christian Ihle Hadland played Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 26 with the TSO here in Olavshallen. Now the star pianist is back with the same piece on the same concert stage, and we can promise sparkling virtuosity and elegant musicianship in the piano concerto. The leap is made to Bruckner's Symphony No. 7, his musical memorial to Richard Wagner, who died the same year the symphony was completed. A grand symphony that is both majestic and lyrical, (elegiac and rural,) vulnerable and dramatic – a worthy memorial and Bruckner's greatest success.

    Trondheim Voices – 'Fluctuations'

A new work by Sissel Vera Pettersen for Trondheim Voices. The work premiered at Moldejazz in July 2026. Fluctuations draws its inspiration from waves. From the deep movements of the ocean to the ever-repeating cycles that govern all living things, and the ceaseless fluctuations that define both nature and human life. The vocal ensemble Trondheim Voices is known for challenging the boundaries of what voices can express. In this new commissioned work, composer Sissel Vera Pettersen takes the concept of “waves” as a starting point – not just as physical movements, but as a metaphor for human experiences and the invisible ties between nature’s cycles and people’s inner lives. The work is inspired by repetitive minimalism, animal sounds, machine noise, liturgical chorales, ritual rhythm circles, and music as a timeless connecting force between people. A mosaic of personal expressions. Trondheim Voices consists of some of the country's foremost improvising vocalists, and in this project each individual singer is given a crucial role. The music is written as a framework where each ensemble member colors the soundscape with their unique, personal expression. Through a seamless fusion of acoustic sound and electronic manipulation, the voices are transformed into everything from fragile melodic lines to massive walls of sound. Cast: Vocals, live electronics, percussion: Sissel Vera Pettersen Thea Ellingsen Grant Jakob Nordli Leirvik Tone Ase Natali Abrahamsen Garner Anita Kaasboell Harald Relling Nilsen Heidi Skjerve Composer: Sissel Vera Pettersen Sound design: Tor Breivik Lighting design: Sindre Hansen Trondheim Voices is part of the Midtnorsk Jazz Center and receives grants from the Directorate of Culture, Trondheim Municipality and Trøndelag County Council.

Gill Landry is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist from Louisiana. He started his career as a street musician in New Orleans and along the American west coast, before joining Old Crow Medicine Show in 2004. Together with the band the journey went from touring in a van to Grammy wins and membership of the legendary Grand Ole Opry. In 2015 Landry left the band to focus fully on his solo career. Through six solo albums he has developed a distinctive expression with roots in American folk, country and americana – from grand, cinematic arrangements to intimate and contemplative songs about love, loss and life on the road. Landry has covered over one million miles on tour and shared the stage with artists such as Brandi Carlile, Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons, Ben Harper and Nathaniel Rateliff. On his latest album, Cinnamon Canyon Blues, he draws inspiration from several years in near isolation at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. The result is a personal album about change, loss and new beginnings. On 22 September you can experience Gill Landry in intimate surroundings at Lille Ole Bull during Bergen Live Sessions.

Starlight Big Band performs music by Ingrid Steinkopf

In 2020, the band performed a commissioned piece by Steinkopf to great acclaim. Now, six years later, the band gets to perform new music composed by Steinkopf over the past year. Since then, Ingrid has completed a master's degree in jazz composition at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, where the focus has been on large ensembles with a focus on big bands. In this concert we will present music from her master's project. The program consists exclusively of her own compositions, arranged for big bands. The music has grown out of a trio format and developed into larger arrangements for big bands. Steinkopf's musical language moves between clear rhythmic grooves, polyrhythms and melodic lines. Her fascination with patterns and simple ideas is evident as a consistent feature in the compositions, where small motifs grow into larger structures. Photo: Ingvild Constance Festervoll Melien

All compositions on the album are by musician/composer Ole Amund Gjersvik. When the country was shut down during the pandemic, he, like many other musicians, felt worthlessness and a lack of community – unity. Ideas and composing the song "It Was A Bad Year" was the start of several demos where many of the compositions have taken inspiration from music from distant climes; everything from Bossa Nova, Mambo, Reggae jazz, Swing/Trad, Samba, Bolero to Funky jazz. With the album HOPE, Ole Amund hopes that listeners will find joy/comfort and get their minds off insecurity in a troubled world. HOPE was recorded in "Havnelageret sound studio", Bergen on 7 January 2026, with Daniel Birkeland as sound engineer. The selected songs are all recordings from the first or second attempt, which means that the music retains a freshness, almost "live" feeling! KORK Kammer & Håkon Austbø: Brahms & Messiaen

    — "The most otherworldly beautiful music of the 20th century." The quote above is what the renowned author and New York Times critic Alex Ross writes about Olivier Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time. The masterpiece was composed in 1941 under inhuman conditions in a German concentration camp, but despite the backdrop the music feels full of vitality and hope. Pianist Håkon Austbø has over 60 years of work established himself as one of Europe's foremost Messiaen interpreters, and we look forward to experiencing him in this significant work together with a solid group of chamber musicians from the Broadcasting Orchestra. Brahms' violin sonatas also symbolise a very special vitality – three sonatas that have become among the most complete and substantial chamber music in history. At this concert we will hear the first, which thus fires the starting gun for the autumn's Brahms cycle. You can read Håkon Austbø's introduction to the entire programme on our programme pages. With Eskil on vocals and guitar, Gustav on drums, Edvard on bass, and Theodor and KristoCer on guitar and synth. The band provides an explosive and resounding mix of rock, pop with direct lyrics that both kick, comfort and treCs right in the heart. With musical role models on the scale from Dumdum Boys, to Zach Bryan and Håkan Hellstrøm, SULT creates songs that represent the essence of adolescence; honest, imperfect and full of nerve. The band name comes from the commitment, the spark and the longing to create and feel, of something real. The energy and interplay of the band combined with catchy choruses has already given them both fans and lots of experience from the stage. The goals are high and the ambitions are great. 2026 will be the year where SULT ends up on our radar. The music is ready and the country will be played up and down.
