WELCOME TO THE MAY 1ST CELEBRATION!
Kulturen is moving into a new location at Strandveien 100 in Nyhavna .
Here, the activism of the seventies in the film TRONDHEIMSKAMPEN will meet today's struggle for Strandveien 23 and the cultural environments at Nyhavna, through film, panel debate, appeals and artistic elements.
THE TRONDHEIMSKAMPEN is a historical and topical documentary about activism then and now, told as a personal story by Barbro Rønning, as a contemporary witness and activist for 50 years.
Through the film we want to look at how past activism can help ignite present-day activism. In the 70s, the people saved the old wooden houses in the city from demolition in connection with the construction of a motorway. Now Strandveien 23 faces the same threat when Bane Nor wants to build wider railway tracks and demolish old wooden houses on Svartlamoen.
What can we learn from past activism? What has been and is the role of art in the urban environment struggle? And what makes a city diverse and good to live in?
