Leckere Riesen
Die Königskrabbe ist noch nicht lange in Norwegen, erst 1977 wurde hier das erste Exemplar gefangen. Damals war sie in Norwegen als Kamtschatkakrabbe bekannt, benannt nach der Halbinsel an der Ostküste Sibiriens.
Die Königskrabben an der Küste Norwegens stammen ursprünglich aus dem Murmansk-Fjord, wo sie in den 1960er Jahren von sowjetischen Biologen freigelassen wurden. Seitdem haben sie sich nach Nordnorwegen ausgebreitet und können in dem kalten Wasser gut leben.
„Es gibt mehr als hundert Arten von Königskrabben. Die Rote ist die zweitgrößte Art und wird auch am häufigsten gegessen“, erklärt Michael, Königskrabben-Safari-Guide im Schneehotel Kirkenes.
Das Fleisch der Königskrabbe ist süß, aromatisch und wird oft mit Hummer verglichen. Laut Michael ist die Schulter das leckerste Stück. „Der Schultermuskel ist das Filet der Königskrabbe. Es ist das zarteste Fleisch der Krabbe“, schwärmt Michael.
