UNNI WILHELMSEN – 30 YEARS OF ADVENTURE
Unni Wilhelmsen is celebrating 30 years on stage with a major anniversary tour!
Over the past three decades, Unni has established herself as one of the leading pioneers of the singer-songwriter tradition in Norway. From her breakthrough with the debut album To Whom It May Concern in 1996 – featuring classics such as “Anything ’bout June” and “Won’t Go Near You Again” – to becoming firmly established as “that woman” in Di Derre, Unni and her songs have earned a cherished place in Norway’s musical heart. Ten albums, 100 songs, two Spellemann Awards, the Songwriters’ Fund Honorary Award and 3,000 concerts are now set to be celebrated!
Unni is one of Norway’s most extensively touring artists. There are few corners of the country she has not visited with her songs, accompanied by her specially designed guitars and the quirky stories that weave the songs together.
Joining Unni on stage are her long-time musical companions, Reidar Opdal on keyboards and Eivind Kløverød on drums.
This will be an evening filled with great songs, an excellent band, laughter and warmth – an evening entirely in Unni’s spirit.
ABOUT BYSOMMER:
Few artists have captured Oslo as precisely as Lillebjørn Nilsen. Through a long artistic career, poetry and folk songs, he gave us a profound insight into the soul of the city. For many years, Lillebjørn and his collaborator Helge Westbye invited audiences to “Bysommer”, a concert held during Norway’s main summer holiday period. We are now continuing that legacy with the Bysommer concert series, where artists who, like Lillebjørn, love Oslo bring positive energy to the city’s laid-back summer atmosphere.
Bysommer takes place at venues including SALT Art & Music from June to August. Read more at bysommer.no.
Age limit: 20+ years.
