Join us as we officially open Martnan 2026 at Trondheim’s main square!
The opening ceremony will feature music, entertainment, and a festive celebration of this year’s Martnan. The Railway Band will set the atmosphere from the stage before Erika Norwich takes over the square with an energetic performance. There will also be an opening speech by the Mayor, Kent Ranum. and a symbolic fertilizing of a plant - marking growth, community, and Martnan’s green initiative.
Martnan in Trondheim is a traditional public festival with roots dating back to the 18th century, attracting thousands of visitors each year for shopping, culture, and experiences in the heart of the city. Over four days, the square is filled with market stalls, local food, crafts, activities, and entertainment for the whole family. Here, tradition and modern city life come together in a vibrant urban space full of life and summer atmosphere.
