Climb the Via Ferrata route at Knaben to the top of mount Knabekniben.
At Knaben Via Ferrata you can climb to the top of mountain Knabekniben, 786 meters above sea level.
Experience the joys and thrills of mountain climbing in a safe way. Climbing in a Via Ferrata you are secured to a steel cable the whole time, and you use fixed steel steps to climb on. You must rent or bring your own certified Via Ferrata harness and helmet. Guided tours are recommend. Experienced climbers can climb the route on their own, but must registrer and pay the climbing fee.
About the route:
Knaben Via Ferrata has moderate difficulty and very good height; you will be challenged.
The mountain Knabekniben is situated just over Knaben Gård (farm) and is easy accesible from the parking. The route back is an established hiking path. The start of the Via Ferrata is just 100 meters from the road - RV465. The route then goes 100 metres up "Eldupsa". After the first climb, you continue on foot some hundred meters to the last climb. At this point there will be a rest on guided tours.
The last climb is the most spectacular part of the Via Ferrata. From the top, there is a panoramic view of the mountain area of Knaben. On the way back you follow the hiking path down to the parking. If there are members of the group that don't want to climb, they can walk to the top instead. There are also "escape routes" after the first climb.
In total, the tour is 4-5 hours long.
