‘Loop Ekko’ is an audiovisual world with small spatial islands within Arteriets two exhibition rooms. These rooms consists of two pieces, ‘Loop’ and ‘Ekko’. ’Loop’ is five modulated RC Cars built with one wireless speaker each, where each car and speaker has their own layer of voice. The five cars in total channels a multiple voice choir, where two or three voices each belongs to one speaker. The speakers are manual and can be panned, spatially rearranged and transformed by the audience through physical loops and passages through each rooms. ‘Ekko’ is three small islands. Two on the floor, one in the roof. Two muted and one singing. The whole sonic piece or choir arrangement is on approximately 30 min. loops. All voice layers recorded by the artist.

She works with spatial transformation through and interdisciplinary play between visual art and sound, within a universe of ’adult pets’, voice choirs, camouflaged innocent constellations and other physical love substitutes. She has worked for contemporary artists such as Olafur Eliasson and Tori Wrånes, and is currently working with the experimental dance company ‘Corpus’ - The Royal Ballet & Danish Theatre, Copenhagen for two upcoming productions for 2020/21, and as an independent artist.  Kaja grew up in Mandal, and this is her first solo exhibition in Kristiansand. You can also call ahead to book a private visit.
