From Bjøråskardet you have the most stunning views you can get from any marked tourist route to the mountains around Innerdalen valley. The steep Skarfjell, Trolla and Tårnfjellet with Innerdalstårnet is straight forward and Vinnufjell with snowy peaks and its blue-green glacier to the right. Deep down is the green Innerdalen with twinkling lakes and bright green meadows.
The hike is short and steep.
The trail goes upwards from Todalen to Bjøråskaret, and from there steep, but completely harmless, back down to Innerdalen.
Follow the road down the valley from Kårvatn 2 km. From here (220 m) the path goes diagonally upwards the valley of pine forest, passing the remains of Taløysetra summer farm (483 m) to the south and turns between Snøfjellet and the jagged ridge of Skjerdingfjellet.
Above the forest, the trail goes in large loops along a duct that is built to transfer water to the Gjebekken. Far up in the ascent meet the trail meets a marked route from Todalshytta. The route from Todalshytta (30 m) goes up from the valley first along the road, then on to a tractor road until it rises steeply to Snekkerdalshalsen (650 m).
Here the route to Bjøråskaret goes eastward beneath Snøfjellet, while there also is a lighter, marked route through Snekkerdalen valley to Innerdalen valley. The trail passes the barren bottom with Bjøråvatnet (977 m) in the east, and after a climb you're up in Bjøråskaret (1178 m) with stunning views.
From here it is, by the map, only a couple of kilometres down to Innerdalen valley, but during these kilometres you go almost 800 meters down. The path is pretty straight on the road against Renndalen valley. Initially, the trail down some steeper sections in rock and scree and then some grassy hills before it goes down the steep gravel ridges against Renndalen valley. The path goes through birch forest on the west side of Renndøla further down the valley. You pass some fine waterfalls before reaching the valley floor (400 m).
Follow the tractor road on the right into Renndølsetra and left towards Innerdalshytta (Innerdalen farm).
