More about the hiking destination
Gjørahaugen is a nature reserve that was created in 1999. The area has many vegetation types and is one of the most species-rich sites in the county.
On top of Gjørahaugen you find Flurhytta which used to ba a military observation during the war. The cottage is currently privately owned. People say that Gjørahaugen is made up of coffee grounds and old Christmas trees.
A great day trip is to follow the ridge from Gjørahuagen and up to Ekretinden (1189 m) or Gralistind (1522 m).
