The Hardangerfjord Route passes through some of the most beautiful scenery in Norway. It features fjords, waterfalls, glaciers and high mountains. There are lots of attractions and good food and accommodation on offer along the route as well as pleasant breaks on express boats and ferries. The highest point on the route I 351 metres. The Hardanger Bridge will open in 2013 and it will have a walking/cycling lane.
Cycling this route with children is not recommended. There is a walking and cycling path from Skjervet in Granvin to Voss, which makes this part of the route suitable for children. You can take a boat between Utne and Ulvik from 1 May to 31 October, which makes the trip easier.
