Despite its northern location, the town of Molde enjoys a comparatively mild climate due to the warm Atlantic gulf stream and the town’s sheltered mountain location. Molde has been rebuilt twice, first after a fire in 1916 and again after heavy bombing during World War II. Our enjoyable sightseeing tour of this lovely city starts with a drive through the old part of Molde.

We will pass by the city hall with its beautiful roof rose garden,  the Rosepiken (the Rose Maiden) and the Jazzgutten (the Jazz Boy) before we will reach the Varden Viewpoint. From here at 407 meters above sea level, there you get a fantastic view of the town, the fjords and islands and the famous Molde panorama with its 222 peaks. Our tour continues driving along the spectacular Hotel Seilet and the Aker Stadium before we drive along the Harøyfjorden. From here we will have a view towards Aukra, one of the largest gas providers. Afterwards we will pass another fjord called Malmefjorden and make a photo stop.

Finally there will be time for a little break at Skarstua with its beautiful lake. The area is an excellent starting point for experiencing the countryside, including nature trails and many fishing lakes. There is time to go for a little walk before we return to Molde.
