Snowhotel Kirkenes, Norway opened for the first time in 2006 with 8 rooms, and a small icebar (and a reindeer).  Since then we have grown towards the snowy clouds, and are now one of the most famous igloo hotels in Norway, and in the world. Our idea was to create something unique and natural.  Idyllically placed, with the forest and mountains at our back, and the arctic fjord in front.

Sleep safely and warm in complete arctic stillness.

14 dreamlike rooms uniquely carved by master ice sculptors from around the world. You will always find the Nordic touch in our motifs, with inspiration from both Norwegian and Sami folklore, fauna and fairy tales. Even if you shouldn`t get much sleep, you can spend all night marveling at all the details of the snow art and ice sculptures.

to tick off on your bucket list. With a constant temperature of - 4°, you are in for a cold and magical night. True, many stay the night in the coolest hotel in Kirkenes, because it is a once in lifetime experience. But believe it or not, most people sleep very well there. All you need is a warm, thermal sleeping bag, and some good, simple tips on how to stay warm, and you will sleep like Snow white.

After a dinner to remember in our warm and unique restaurant Låven, you can chill out in the icebar. The jewel of the crown of the Snowhotel, and its theme changes every year - but always something cool. We are open for an hour at 13:00 and 21:00, to serve you ice cold and special arctic drinks, both strong and mild.
