Join us on “Musher’s day – Dog wagon with lunch stop, tundra walk and visit eider colony at Svalbard Villmarkssenter Now you get the chance to experience a musher’s day and join us for a fun and relaxing day full of different experiences! Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation and drive you to the dog yard, where depending on the weather you can get equipped with outer layers like overalls and boots. As an ecotourism company we not only have strong beliefs about our duty to protect the environment. We also like to share our view about living a simpler life and reducing the stress of the modern way of living and therefore gaining not only more life quality, but also more joy and happiness altogether. Then our holiday starts by introducing you to our beloved dog pack of 40 Huskies Together we choose our teams, get them harnessed and put them on the line in front of our wagons. As soon as the last dog is in place, we are ready to go. 2 or 3 guests are driving together (1 driver and 1 – 2 passenger) and you can switch places along the way just as you like. With our dog-teams we will be cruising alon, stopping for water at the creeks and taking photo stops at interesting places. When we return, we park the dogs, get them well secured and then we can take a nature walk and have time to explore the Fauna and Flora of the Arctic Tundra. We will eat a simple lunch together in a warm cosy turfhut or outside around open fire. In the months between May and August, there is a big Eider duck colony nesting around our kennel. It is always fun to watch their behavior and listen to their never-ending chattering. In order to provide higher quality, we always keep our groups small. If you have younger children, you can contact us via e-mail or call and we can see if there is a possibility. This trip is not suitable for people with health issues, poor balance or back problems. If you are unsure, please ask us for advice before booking. We reserve the right to change the trip itinerary in case of unsuitable weather conditions.
