Whale Safari & Fjord Cruise – Arctic Explorer

  • Strandveien 106, Tromsø
  •  /  km From You

From october to february some of the worlds biggest mammals visit the coast outside Tromsø to feed on herrings. The most common whale species we see are the humpback whale, killer whale (orca), harbour porpoise and sometimes even the fin whale.

You are invited to come on board to take a close-up look at the feast. But remember that the whales have their own daily rhythm so we may have to be patient before we spot them in the fjords.
We depart every day at 09:00 from Tromsø city center - Kystens hus. Dress warmly, bring your camera and enjoy!
There is a kiosk onboard where you ca buy food and cold drinks.

We have a qualified guide with us who will inform you about the safety rules and give you a presentation about the whales and the surroundings you will see during the trip.
Please note that whale sighting cannot be guaranteed, but we had a 100% success in the last seasons.

Arctic Explorer AS owns three boats: MS Aurora Explorer (max 146 pers), MS Leone (max 12 pers), MS Arctic Ocean (max 12 pers). We use one of the boats for our tour according to the size of the group on that day!
