Veset Heritage Farm lies 25 kilometers from Oslo International Airport, close to Vormsund (E16). The farmhouse dates back to 1840 and was home to Ms. Albertine Tønsager, daughter of Lars Tønsager, a parliamentarian from Eidsvoll. The famous Henrik Wergeland was a good friend of Mr. Tønsager and a frequent guest of the house. Mr. Wergeland once proposed to Albertine, but her father objected to her marrying Mr. Wergeland.
Veset Heritage Farm lies on Eidsvoll Road, the main road that connected Oslo with Eidsvoll in the 1800’s. Nearby Eidsvoll is the historical town where Norway declared independence and the Norwegian constitution was drafted.
Veset Heritage Farm offers BB (bed and breakfast), features a brick oven house, and has a newly restored kubbehus built of logs and clay.
By appointment we can offer guided tours to see how the cotters lived in the 1900 century in a newly restored house.
