Northern Norway Troms og Finnmark KARLSØY

Two days Christmas Arctic Camp with winter kayaking

  • Bromnes Vargsundet, Rebbenes
  •  /  km From You
Overview

This tour is conducted by Elements Arctic Camp. We offer you a unique, private and personal Christmas. Are you looking for a special Christmas holiday, or want to give someone you know a special gift?

In addition will your booking contribute to a better Christmas by donation and through a helping hand for some of Tromsø´s residents.

Experience a spectacular Arctic Archipelago from our camp site. Stay in a yurt, enjoy traditional Norwegian Christmas food, paddle in Arctic winter light, perhaps under the Northern Lights. If there are good snow conditions, try snowshoeing or skiing.

The camp is without road access and electricity, and we fetch water from a small stream nearby. This is the place to experience - calmness, silence, a lot of weather and the charms of each seasons with its different color schemes and peculiarities. The camp is located by a cultural landscaping area with several nature reserves and you will get close to an Arctic wildlife and coastal life. We will paddle in crystal clear water along beautiful islands, around islets and sheaves and it is common to see eagles, otters, seals and various seabirds.

Program:
We pick you up in Tromsø centre or nearby, by arrangement. The journey to the camp is an adventure in itself, with a scenic 90-minute drive and a 10-minute ferry ride to the island Rebbenesøya. Thereafter, we have a 20-30-minute walk- or snowshoe trip to the camp. After settling into the yurt and during the heating of the yurt, we enjoy a meal. We plan the evenings kayak trip and activities according to the weather conditions, your kayaking experience and wishes. To paddle in the dark is a special experience and if we are lucky you will see the magical Northern Lights. Back at the camp, we enjoy a nice dinner in a warm and cozy yurt. Look forward to a nice sleep in made-up and comfortable beds. The next day, after breakfast, a new kayak trip is waiting in winter daylight. When we return to the camp, we eat and prepare for the return. In addition, or in case of too bad weather for kayaking, we can do a sightseeing trip on the island combined with photo breaks and a hike. Rebbenesøya offers many possibilities. If we have snow, we will invite you to try snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.

Look forward to something exceptional!
