In the centre of Sjøholt you can see the remarkable Lokomobile. The Lokomobile is a mobile steam enging that was originally used to provide power to machines in factories in Sunnmøre about 100 years ago, and is displayed in a glass cage in Sjøholt today.
In the centre of Sjøholt in Ørskog municipaliy you can enjoy the sight of the unique Lokomobile. The Lokomobile is a mobile steam engine that came to Devold Fabrikker from England in 1903, and was used there as a power source for various machines.
Around 1920 the Lokomobile was moved to a barrel factory, since Devold's was modernising the factory and its equipment. It was also used in a mill for some time, but after World War II it was unused for a long time, and became run-down, until Ørskog Historielag (The Historical Society in Ørskog) took on the responsibility for the Lokomobile in 1990.
The Historical Society have put in endless hours of volunteer work to repair the Lokomobile, and today you can see it in a glass cage in the centre of Sjøholt.
