The national museum foundation for the coastal express at Stokmarknes. Exhibitions of authentic rooms and environments, photographs, paintings, model ships, historical films, videos and a multi-media show lasting 20 min. Wheelchair user friendly. The coastal express M/S «Finnmarken» from 1956 is an integral part of the Coastal Express museum and an authentic vestige of Norwegian coastal steamer traditions.
The museum offers a journey through the changing times in the different areas you can find on board. From the mail cabin, via the loading, unloading, safety and navigation, providing you with Hurtigruten. You will encounter the dark side with loss and loss of life, which is also part of the history of Hurtigruten's business through more than a century.
Meet professions that do not have their place on board anymore, as the pilot and radio operator. Until our days were the central characters on board. Now everything is controlled from the bridge, but here at Coastal Express Museum, them again.
Hurtigruten is a society in miniature. Here, romance blossoms and friend ribbon tied. It has been welcoming new citizens of the world and has been the undisputed form of communication between large and small coastal communities. Slide game takes you into the layman's experience of daily life along the coast. You guests will participate in four seasons.
