Skaarnesheimen Raw Ocean Lodge

Being so close to the sea at Sandve, the accommodation offers a wonderful place for adventure and relaxation. Raw Ocean Lodge offers various cabins, rooms and a dome that are all fitted with retro furniture and incorporate recycled materials, adding a delightful ambience to the interiors. The lodge also offers SUP (stand-up paddleboards) and surfboard rentals.

Cabin 1: Capacity: 2 people, 30m2, 1 x king-size bed and 1 sofa bed (2 x 1.40m), 2 showers and 1 WC + simple kitchen

Cabin 2: Capacity: 2 people, 30m2, 1 x king-size bed and 1 sofa bed (2 x 1.40m), 1 shower and 1 WC + simple kitchen

Cabin 3: Capacity: 2-4 people, 30 m2, 2 x queen-size beds, 2 showers, 1 WC, a fridge in each room.

Cabin 4: Capacity: 5-6 people, 60m2, 2 x king-size beds (or 4 single beds) and 1 bunk bed, 1 bathroom, a large living room and fully equipped cabin kitchen.

Rooms in the main building: Capacity: 1 person per room, single bed, sink and storage space. Shared shower and WC, with 4 WCs and 2 showers shared by nine rooms. The bathrooms are just a few metres from the rooms.

North Sea Dome: Capacity: 1-2 people, 1 x queen-size bed, sofa and table - WC and shower in the main building, 15 metres away. Available May to October.

The summer café at Raw Ocean Lodge serves food during July and August. Outside of this period, it’s not possible to order food at the lodge. The nearest restaurants are in Skudeneshavn (about 10 minutes by car), where you will find Havn restaurant and Smiå Bistro, as well as a grocery shop. There is also a grocery shop (Coop Prix Langåker) at Ferkingstad, about a 10-minute drive towards Haugesund.

Bed linen and towels are included, regardless of the type of accommodation you choose.

No, the staff take care of cleaning so it's not something you have to think about when staying at Raw Ocean Lodge.

Pets are not allowed in the cabins, rooms or the dome.

You can stay at Raw Ocean Lodge at any time of year. The exception is the dome, which is only available from May to October.

You can take SUP (stand-up paddleboard) and surf lessons when visiting Raw Ocean Lodge, or rent a board and explore on your own. The lodge also rents out fishing equipment and has its own bouldering course in the area. Want to explore the area with a local guide? Then you should try a guided coastal walk.

By car: Follow the Fv 547 road south towards Skudeneshavn. At Sandve, turn off the Fv 547 and follow Sjoarvegen road down the hill, then turn right onto Storaurvegen road and follow it all the way out to Raw Ocean Lodge.

By plane: Raw Ocean Lodge is only a 30-minute drive from Haugesund Airport Karmøy, which has direct flights from Oslo, Gdansk, Malaga and Alicante.

By Bus: Take a Kolumbus bus 210 or X210 from Haugesund, alight at Sandve, walk down the hill in Sjoarvegen road, turn right at Storaurvegen road and follow it all the way to Raw Ocean Lodge.

There is free parking in front of the main building at Raw Ocean Lodge. If you rent a cabin, you can use the parking space just outside.

There are places to fish on the Raw Ocean Lodge grounds and fishing equipment can be rented if needed. Sandvesanden beach is just a short walk from Raw Ocean Lodge. The beach is excellent for swimming and surfing, or just enjoying the beautiful surroundings. There’s a cycle path to Skudeneshavn, where you can check out the sauna Bade-Olena. Skudeneshavn is only a 10-minute drive away and Syreneset Fort is a five-minute drive.
