Overview

Looking for a place for family holiday, fishing holiday, mountain hike or Northern light experience? Senja Arctic Lodge is the right place for you!

We are located on the seafront with stunning views of the fjord and mountains in the southern part of beautiful island Senja. "The place is ideal for observing the northern lights and the sunrise", reviews one of our guests from France.

Choose between three of our modern theme cabins: Sjøbua, Gammbua or Naustbua. The names reflect proximity to the cultural monuments from an old Sami settlement and an Iron Age site near the cabins. «Luxurious, large cottages just a few meters from the sea. Beautiful, quiet place with fantastic views», Tiia, Finland.

Senja Arctic Lodge is a great base for adventures. You can choose between a hike straight from the cabins to the family friendly Leirpollfjellet (249 metres above sea level) and Stangnesfjellet (301 metres above sea level) or a strikingly beautiful “The Queen's Route”, named after Queen Sonja of Norway, who hiked the route in 2009. “The Queen's Route” starts 5 kilometres from the base, and we will provide you with a good lunch pack on you way there.

The summer season is filled with activities such as deep-sea fishing or coastline trips with our own boats, kayaks or SUP boards. Cultural walk to beautiful and historic Hofsøya island and a museum is a on to do - list.

In the winter you can experience our fantastic light, both the northern lights and the dark time light that can be enjoyed from the cabins, sauna or outdoor jacuzzi. The winter days can also be filled with skiing, snowshoe trips, husky trips and ice fishing on the lake.

We also have six places for caravans/motorhomes or tents with access to electricity, water and waste tank facility.

Senja Arctic Lodge do not have a restaurant but can offer catering for minimum six people. Breakfast however can be arranged, as well as a light lunch to take on mountain hikes.

Senja Arctic Lodge is a family business, run by mother and daughter. We are hospitable and flexible hosts. Good service is important to us and we look forward to seeing you as our guest!

“We stayed for one day and simply did not want to leave. A magical place with an unforgettable chivalry. Everything you need is at home and around it. Perfect location allowing you to see a northern lights from home and around it. Just come and enjoy. Maxim, Israel”

The cabins are 80 sqm over 2 floors. Living/dining room in all cottages has a wonderful view of the sea and the Northern Lights. All cabins have 5 bedrooms with 6/7 beds, complete kitchen, 1 bathroom (1st floor), 1 toilet (2nd floor). Wifi. Heated with electricity and wood stove in two of the cabins.
