Sørvågen
RIB-Safari to Værøy and the old hamlet of Måstad (copy)
We take you out to Værøy that is the second outermost of the Lofoten Islands, far out to sea by the infamous Maelstrom.
Sørland is an active fishing village in Værøy with long-standing traditions. Here we find the very best of Lofoten, all in one place: a typical fish factory, fisherman’s cabins and wharf buildings, and fishing boats along the quayside, all set against a backdrop of majestic mountains rising straight up from the sea. In Nordland we find a pebble beach, a picturesque old church and the closed-down airport. Værøy can also offer chalk-white beaches, colonies of gannets and other seabirds, fascinating abandoned settlements and a range of exciting activities.
