Northern lights cabin - A full day adventure

This tour is conducted by Roy Sætre Arctic Trip. Unique nature experience for two persons. Feel the relaxing effect of sleeping arounded by nature in a transparent cabin. The tour is guided by a local family, one hour away from Tromsø city.

Are you searching for an authentic outdoor experience? Would you like to sleep under the northern lights? This is a private tour for 2 person with outdoor activities and accommodation in heated transparent shelter. Sauna is also free for use. You will be guided by Arctic Trip, a local outdoor family.

We are located in Nordkjosbotn, an hour drive from Tromsø toward inland. To make this tour more Eco Friendly, you can arrive to Nordkjosbotn by local bus number 100 from Tromsø, departure every day from Tromsø at 10:30 am. We can also organize private transport if needed.
We will meet you at Nordkjosbotn busstation. You will be introduced to snowshoeing, a winter activity which is really easy to learn and therefore suitable for anyone in reasonable shape. We will adjust our walk depending on how demanding activity you like to have. Climb up to the mountains or just have a relaxed walk in the valley, just as you like. You can also change or combine snowshoewalk to icefishing, skiing or hiking. Do not hesitate to take contact, it is always possible to customize the trip.

After the hike we will arrive to our camp, where you can relax in traditional wood-burning finnish sauna with panoramaview toward the mountains.

Three-course dinner will be served after sauna. We will serve you homemade, local food; fish or meat with vegetables. For dessert berries from the area or homemade cake. If you are vegetarian or allergic, please let us know beforehand.

After the dinner it is time to make sure you have the right settings on your camera if the northern lights appear. If the sky is clear, you can see the northern lights from the camp. We will be guiding you and taking some pictures and videos with our equipment as well. Roy has over ten years experience in northern lights guiding, and will share of his knowledge and tips. In addition to traditional pictures, we also have equipment to take 360 pictures and 4k video of Northern Lights, if the conditions allow us to. All the pictures and videos are included in price. If it is cloudy on our camp and there is possibility to find clear sky other places, you can hire me for 1000 NOK/hour to drive out for chasing the Aurora. Most of the times we will find clear sky within maximum two hours drive one way.

Sleep in transparent cabin and do not miss out the aurora activity. The cabin is actually just a shelter, where you really will get the feeling to be surrounded by pure nature. If the sky is clear you will see millions of stars, and maybe the northern lights will show up during the night.

We will serve the breakfast in the morning before leaving you back to buss station in Nordkjosbotn. The bus will leave at 8:25 am and arrive Tromsø Prostneset at 9:25 am.

Obs: To drive out to chase the northern lights is not included in price. If you want to drive out for chasing, you can hire me for 1000 NOK/hour.

Please bring: Warm clothes. Woolsocks are recommended. Your passport in case we need to cross the border to Finland.

Departure time and place: 10:30am (10:30) at the bus terminal at Tromsø Havn Prostneset (Tromsø port terminal) . Please take the bus number 100 toward Narvik. We will meet you at Nordkjosbotn busstop at 11:30am (11:30). Updated information about departure time and place is available on information screens. The bus ticket is not included. It can be bought from the busdriver by cash payment, Visa or Mastercard. It can also be bought beforehand by the APP Troms Mobillett, or at Troms Fylkestrafikk salespoint.
