Overview

Bustling ships, Vikings and Black Death ... A small trading center with small wooden houses: Trondheim or Nidaros as the city was called in the Middle Ages, will become the first capital and one of Europe's most visited pilgrimage.

Join us on a journey through this exciting period where we will pass some of the remaining medieval buildings in the city. Magnificent Nidaros Cathedral, built over the tomb of St. Olav, and the archbishop's palace.

The trip could also include a visit to the Church of Our Lady, or the medieval church ruins in either the public library or Sparebank 1.

Our tour begins in Skipakrok, Trondheim's first harbor, where the Viking king Olav Tryggvason founded the city in 997.
