Mårbu Seter og Fjellstue

Mårbu Seter og Fjellstue Accommodation at family run traditional lodge in the Hardangervidda, with a pleasant atmosphere and a real adventure of nature right outside its doorstep. We also arrange meetings, seminars and parties for up to 25-30 people. With our boat Mårfjord you can arrive here almost to the door. So here you can get right into the heart of Hardangervidda without any need for a day's hike. We also provide a shuttle service which can handle your luggage. The terrain around Mårbu provides many exciting opportunities, you can take a leisurely jaunt through Skjortedalen (Shirt Valley), or ascend a higher peak and enjoy a panoramic view. If you are interested in history, you can see traces of a Stone Age settlement which is visible by the lake at low water not far from the lodge. The area called Skortakervollen was once used as a market or meeting point for trade between Eastern and West Norway. The wealth of cultural history wealth is great throughout the area, this being the old main route between East and West called Nordmannsslepa. Hiking in the terrain for beginners as well as experienced hikers. There are many marked tracks and walks with breathtaking views. The area offers a good network of trails to other lodges in Hardangervidda Nature Park, including Imingfjell, Solheimstulen, Kalhovd and Rauhelleren. There are also opportunities for berry picking, fishing and swimming in the lake or for enjoying our outdoor wood heated hot tub. Boat rental and sale of fishing licenses can be purchased at Mårboden close to Mårbu Seter og Fjellstue, which is open every day of the season. Reindeer licenses and renting of grouse hunting terrain can be arranged through Geir Prestegården, phone: +47 995 58 888.
