This arctic secret was once a busy little island with fishermen, shopkeepers and lighthouse keepers. Today the lighthouse owner is the only remaining inhabitant, and she welcomes guests all year long.
At Littleisland Lighthouse we have two simple and peaceful double rooms available with an unrivalled view to the open sea and the Lofoten islands. There is an adjacent library with a wood burning stove where you can relax and take pleasure in the cosy family atmosphere.
The food we serve is homemade and as biodynamic as possible. Each morning there is fresh bread with jam made from Littleisland’s own berries, and you will be able to enjoy lots of vegetables home grown, as well as fish caught just outside the bay.
Getting to the island across the open sea is an adventure in itself, and once here you can wander along the cultural path and see traces of all who lived here before us, whilst on the lookout for sea eagles and orcas that can be seen all around the island. During wintertime this is the perfect place to discover the northern lights, out in the ocean with nothing to detract from the extraordinary sight.
