This tour is conducted by Destination Snowman.Find your inner peace on the back of a horse in the Bardufoss-region!
This is a time-out and a pleasure for body and soul. Our main focus is the connection between you and the horse, our fantastic nature and living in the moment. We’ll ride in the mountains and on a riding ground. This weekend is tailored for mature women of all ages, regardless of earlier experience with horses. The riding camp starts Friday at 3 PM and ends Sunday at 3 PM. During the week end you can pre book extra 30 minutes relaxing massage, performed by a professional massage therapist.
The massage costs NOK 495 per 30 minutes. The exact time of the massage session will be agreed upon during the weekend.
The weekend starts Friday afternoon with check-in at 6 PM in cozy cabins or apartments. After check-in we’ll gather the group for a cup of coffee at Basecamp Snowman. We’ll get to know each other a bit, and together we visit the horse garden before we will have a two-course dinner at the long dining table at Basecamp at 8 PM.
Saturday morning starts with breakfast at Basecamp at 9AM. We’ll then gather at the riding ground to become familiar with the horses. You’ll be given great guidance, and we’ll switch between riding and helping each other, so everyone eventually will feel safe. At 1 PM lunch is served by the bonfire in the grilling hut. After lunch, half of the group will ride up in the mountains whilst the other group relaxes around the bonfire, enjoys the views, plays frisbee golf - or enjoys a refreshing massage (can be booked ahead). The groups will switch places in the afternoon, and the other group gets to go for a ride in the mountains. We can guarantee that when Saturday afternoon arrives, when the riding sessions are over, a full body massage is the perfect way to relax the muscles! Before dinner you have time to take a shower and get some time to yourself. A finer dinner is served at the long dining table at Basecamp. The bright summer night can be enjoyed by the bonfire if the weather allows it. Togetherness, mountains, the views, the midnight sun and the horses grazing - that’s therapy!
Sunday at t 8AM we’ll gather by the breakfast table. After breakfast we’ll do a fun activity run with the horses! This is a great challenge for both horse and rider. Lunch is served afterwards where you will receive your diplomas. The weekend ends by saying goodbye to your horses and friends. Pictures from the weekend will be sent to the participants subsequently, and they will hopefully serve as happy memories from the riding camp (we always ask for permission before photographing participants).
We are very concerned with animal welfare and well-being. Our horses are well trained and steady. Our guides are well experienced and skilled.
Our camp leaders are two women with great knowledge about both horses and people, and will be your hosts through the weekend. We allow groups between 6 and 12 participants. If we are not able to fill your selected weekend with 6 or more participants, you will be transferred to another available weekend of choice. If you have any questions regarding the riding camp or our horses, call us on + 47 77 83 05 70. Let’s talk horses!
