If you love dogs and the life outdoors, experiencing the Arctic nature with a four-legged hiking buddy is an absolute must-do.
This tour is conducted by Tromsø Villmarkssenter.
Upon arrival at our centre, you will receive rubber boots and rain clothes if necessary, and then we are on our way. Our guide will take you and some of our energetic huskies out on a hike through the Arctic wilderness surrounding our centre. We usually do not give a dog to each guest, as our dogs are strong and trained to pull – most guests are happy to rotate handling them. Be prepared for some exercise!
Once we are back, our guide will give you a tour of our dog yard and tell you about our centre, life with the dogs, and dog sledding. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to cuddle and play with our puppies. Afterwards we will restore your strength with a steaming hot portion of Bacalao, a traditional Norwegian fish dish made from locally sourced ingredients, and a piece of our signature chocolate cake for dessert. A vegetarian option is available upon preliminary request.
The minimum group size for this activity is two persons. If you are traveling alone and we do not receive other bookings, we will either offer you a rescheduling, an alternative activity or a full refund.
