Located at the tip of Grotle on Bremangerlandet, Grotlesanden is one of Norway’s most beautiful beaches. With silky white sand stretching for hundreds of meters and open sea views as far as the eye can see, it is a true natural gem and a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike.

Along the scenic “riviera” from Hauge to Grotle, you’ll find several small beaches, but Grotlesanden stands out as the largest and most breathtaking. Here, dramatic coastal cliffs meet soft sandy shores, creating a unique contrast that makes the beach unforgettable.

Grotlesanden offers clean toilet and shower facilities for visitors. Paid parking is available, costing 50 NOK per day, making it easy to plan a stress-free day at the beach.

The nearest accommodation, guest marina, cafés, restaurants, and grocery stores are located at Iglandsvik Marina, just 2 km from the beach. There are also designated camping areas nearby, as camping directly on Grotlesanden is not allowed due to its proximity to nearby buildings.

Grotlesanden is the starting point for the popular hike to Veten – Norway’s westernmost mountain plateau. The trail offers spectacular views along the way, especially back towards the beach and the village of Grotle. This combination of beach day and hiking adventure makes Grotlesanden a top destination for nature lovers visiting Western Norway.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day on a pristine Norwegian beach, a refreshing swim in the North Atlantic, or a scenic hike with breathtaking views, Grotlesanden delivers. Perfect for photography, family outings, or a memorable solo adventure, this iconic Western Norway beach is a must-see.
