You are very welcome to join our fishing trips in the pristine and rich waters outside Kvaløya. Our knowledge about the area is your guarantee for a successful trip.
Small groups – Big experiences
You are very welcome to join our fishing trips in the pristine and rich waters outside Kvaløya, west of Tromsø. We enjoy sharing our passion for sea fishing, the area and its wildlife. 2020 will be our fifteenth season of fishing trips and our knowledge about the area is your guarantee for a successful fishing experience.
About the trips
This trip is perfect if you like a real fishing adventure. Before we start the trip, we discuss which species you would like to target. Some groups only like to chase the “record fish”, while others may target their fishing to catch as many species as possible. Whatever your goals are, we will do everything to meet your wishes. During the trips we often try different techniques, jigging, shad- and natural bait fishing are all very effective in these waters. Sea fishing in Northern Norway is demanding and the equipment has to be top class. All the equipment is included and we only use high end gear, mainly from Shimano.
We will prepare the catch for you if you want to bring it with you.
We also experience close encounters with the local wildlife, which can include whales, seals, otters, sea eagles, puffins and many other arctic bird species.
Fish species
Our area is well-known for the halibut fishing. Every year halibuts over 100kg are caught in our area. The peaks and structures hold big cod and coalfish all year around. There are sandy plateaus which offer fantastic plaice and dab fishing. The area also offers good fishing for wolffish, haddock, tusk, ling, redfish and mackerel.
Safety on board
We will start the trip with a safety briefing, and we ensure you dress properly for the conditions with suitable flotation suits, boots, hat and gloves. We run the trips with our 10,5m long Kloster Patrol charter boat, custom built for sightseeing and fishing trips. The boat is fully equipped for fishing and provides a comfortable, stable, and seaworthy ride. It has a walkaround deck with 10 seats and offering great space for sightseeing and fishing. The heated wheelhouse is equipped with modern navigation electronics, 10 seats and a toilet. The twin 300hp Yamaha engines will get you to the fishing grounds fast. The boat has an unsinkable hull supplemented with flotation elements. Kloster Patrol boats are among the safest boats ever built in Europe and have passed tougher tests than any other boats in Norway.
