Would you like to stroll around in Drammen?

Start at Bragernes Square which is in the heart of Drammen and Scandinavia's largest square. This is the city's meeting place, teeming with life all year round. There are flower and vegetable stalls, concerts, political meetings, festivals, artificial ice track in the winter, street theater and other pranks. The atmosphere here is special.

Around the square there are cafes with outdoor seating in summer. Cozy, small shops and pleasant shopping centers provide opportunities for shopping. If you are lucky it is "Farmers Market", where you can buy food and drink from surrounding farms.

Brage's Market is the city's folk feasts. Skier Worldcup Skispint goes right in the city with a sea of spectators and television transmission to a number of countries. River festival dates with outdoor concerts with world-class artists, carnival, boat races, exhibitions and tricks under dragebåtfestivalen on the River.

Around the River: approx. 40 minutes walk
You start the trip at Bragernes Torg. Here are Bragernes Church, Drammen Town Hall with its two distinctive towers and market stalls. Go down to the Town Bridge and onto the river front up the river until you reach the modern bridge "Ypsilon". The bridge was in 2008 prices, "European Steel Bridges Award". Walk a little past the bridge, here you will find a large steel ball - and a similar bump is on the other side of river. This is art work "Elveharpen", which makes noise from fluctuations in the bridge.

Go over the bridge, you may see people fishing along the river or kayak paddlers. This will take you to the trendy Union Quay, with marina, stylish cafes, modern apartments, cultural arena Union Stage and Papirbredden - Drammen knowledge park, with libraries and colleges. Continue on student promenade down the river, enjoy the views and river life. Go down to the Bridge, cross the bridge and you're back at square Bragernes.
