Bjørnø Gård (Bjørnø Farm) welcome you to step into old footsteps and stay in historical surroundings in the old brewery house from May-October.
The farm does not offer TV, wireless network and bubble bath, but cozy farmer's romance with early 1900s interior and handmade soaps. Bjørnø farm wants to offer room for quality time of life, with a taste of norwegian tradition. The brewery house is refurbished, and the goal is to preserve the house as it was when it was built in 1907.
The island's settlement can be documented back to 1398, but Kjose village has a long history with traces of burial mounds from the Viking Age. The Island Bjørnøya has for several centuries had a central role in the history of the Farris watercourse.
Based on the bakery house, the establishment of Kjose Gårdsbakeri (farm bakery) has been the start of developing the farm after decades with decay. Still in the planning phase, but a natural next step is to share charming island experiences by renting out the brewery house. Bjørnøya is one of Vestfold countys largest islands with nice hiking opportunities and swimming places, and you are welcome to use the boat for a trip on the lake.
Accomodation in 3 bedrooms with 2 beds in each room, duvets and pillows for 6 people. Bed linen and towels can be brought or rented on the farm. Cleaning is included in the rent.
The kitchen has a fridge with freezer, stove, dishwasher, kettle and equipment for self-catering.
Bathroom with shower, hairdryer and washing machine.
Bonfire and outside furnitures.
Boat available (included in rent).
Open May - October.
Check-in and check-out are agreed upon at the time of booking.

If you like the home-made soaps at the farm, its possible to buy this with you back home. You can also buy Kjose-lefser and flatbread from the bakery.
Parking/access:
Arrival from Larvik or Porsgrunn on E-18, take exit towards Kjose, follow signs for Kjose on the old E-18. Drive onto Kjoseveien in the turn by Hallevannet (Halle lake) and drive approx. 4.3 km. Cross the old railway and you will see Farris lake and the farms on Bjørnøya island. Parking in Sandvika on the right hand side, above the garage. The hosts will pick you up by boat.
