This is the perfect outdoors adventure for those who want to experience more than a day tour. Two full days with dog sledding and wilderness accommodation will definitely bring you closer to Nature and give you an insight in the world of Mushing.
Day 1
We meet at the husky camp in the morning. You'll meet your guide and together, we go through all packing and equipment we need to bring on the tour. Once we are packed we drive to where the roads end and wilderness takes over. Now it's time for a introduction from the guide on what to expect and how to steer your team of huskies. Once the sleds are packed, the adrenaline is pumping and the dogs are excited, we are ready to go!
Everybody takes an active part in the daily routines. Taking care of the dogs yourself along the way is an essential part of mushing and a highly satisfying experience.
In the evening we arrive at our destination for the night, a traditional Norwegian mountain cottage where we'll enjoy a real "back to basics" experience. Without electricity, running water or WiFi connection, the cabin still holds everything wel need for a cosy, comfortable and charming stay. A hot shower will have to wait until we're back in the "civilization".
Day 2
We start with a solid breakfast for both four- and two legged beings. We pack everything for the return trip and get the dogs ready. During the trip back, we stop for lunch. We'll arrive back at our base before evening.
Optional: In addition to the 2-days tour, we recommend you to book one extra night in our Husky Wilderness Camp the day before the tour and even book a day activity with our huskies. This way, you will get the chance to acclimatize to the Norwegian winter conditions before setting out on the tour. If you would like a higher level of comfort, we can arrange for you to stay in a charming hotel or Mountain Lodge in the area, with great food and service. After the tour, it might also be nice for you to spend an extra day visiting the beautiful area of Valdres, with a wide offer of activities.
