Beginners Kite Course Lofoten

Join Pukka's enthusiastic and passionate instructors, and become part of the growing kiting trend! Together, we will explore the power of the waves by the Norwegian coast and get active in the water for two days full of adventure.

Kiteboarding, kitesurfing or water kiting – there are many different names referring to the popular activity of standing on a surf board and using kite power to glide, turn and make jumps. You may have seen the colorful kites dangling high above the water's surface on the beach, and now, it's your turn to try for yourself! Kitesurfing is a lot of fun, and northern Norway has great conditions for it, with its long coastline and nice winds. Prepare yourself to get hooked to this adventurous outdoor activity.

It may look advanced, and kitesurfing surely requires some practice, but there is no need to be extremely athletic or to have any previous experience to join this course. We'll meet up at the Pukka Travels basecamp in central Svolvær, and from there, we move on with a scenic drive to Gimsøya on the northern side of Lofoten, where all the practical training takes place. Gimsøya is a fairly unexplored part of Lofoten with stunning nature, amazing midnight sun views and fantastic shallow waters for kiting. It won't get any more magnificent than this!

As the Arctic waters are cold, we provide premium wetsuits, as well as all the gear that you need to get started. All ages from 18 and above are welcome, while ages 14–18 should be accompanied by a guardian.
