Base Camp Vega

Base Camp Vega offers accommodation in new units, resembling eiderbird houses, and facilitates activity-based holidays on Vega.

Base Camp Vega (BCV) is a new gathering place for activity-based holidays and leisure on Vega. BCV is located on the farm in Sundsvollveien 70 and offers accommodation in small cabins (‘eiderbird houses for people’), and a common sanitary facility in a newly renovated barn.

Activities
Base Camp Vega will be a starting point for many exciting activities on Vega. Here you can book  organized cycling and hiking trips, boat excursions, or rent kayaks. Not least, you can join climbing trips in the popular Ravnfloget Via Ferrata.

Accommodation
Base Camp Vega can offer accommodation in unique 'eiderbird houses for people'. These are 20 specially built small cabins inspired by the eiderdown business that has characterized the Vega Islands for hundreds of years.

The cabins are located on wooden slabs in the terrain above the base camp. Wooden stairs and plank paths have been built from the farm to the cabins. The location is spectacular, overlooking the sea, the sunset and the island of Søla.

The "eider" houses have one room with good beds for 2 people, and are provided with made beds and towels. The cabins are uninsulated, but have a heater and electricity installed.

The barn on the farm has been converted into a sanitary facility and restaurant. There are 10 showers and 10 toilets, and you also have access to a simple shared outdoor kitchen.

From the spring of 2022, there is a new restaurant in the barn with opportunities to buy breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as drinks of all kinds.
