During the summer and autumn, walrus colonies are often seen resting on beaches and small islets around Svalbard. Join us for an unforgettable boat trip as we venture out to spot these remarkable creatures in their natural habitat!

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the harbour in Longyearbyen, where the speedboat Kvitbjørn awaits.

This 14.9-metre boat seats 12 passengers comfortably.

We begin the tour by crossing the majestic Isfjorden, arriving at Borebukta after about an hour.

This calm bay is a popular spot for walrus colonies. Walruses can often be seen relaxing on beaches or small islets, especially in summer and autumn. They are social animals, frequently resting together in groups.

We stay on the boat throughout the tour, spending time outside on the aft deck. After enjoying hot drinks and freshly baked buns, we return to Longyearbyen.

Included in the tour

Transfer to/from the harbour in Longyearbyen

Boat tour with guide and all necessary safety equipment on board

We recommend that you dress warmly, with a wind jacket, warm hat and mittens. Although the inside of the boat is heated, it is nice to spend some time on the outer deck as well.

This tour is subject to weather conditions, particularly in regards to wind and waves.

We do not recommend this tour if you are pregnant or have back problems.

Although the chances are good, we cannot guarantee that we will see walruses. This is the case with all wild animals.
