Join a local host on this unique cultural walk through 2,000 years of history, from the Viking Age to the present day. Tranøya is a small, idyllic island on the southern coast of Senja, and a short boat transfer is part of the experience.

Tranøya has been inhabited for more than 2,000 years, and your guide will take you on a journey through the eras and the people who lived here before us. The walk offers vivid insights into life on the island from Viking times to today.

Along the way, you will visit the farm area, remains of boathouses and Viking‑era burial sites, and enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful Tranøy Church.

Tranøya has no road connection. There is no car traffic here – the only motorized vehicle is the farm tractor – and the quiet surroundings make it easy to unwind and find your inner calm. This is the perfect place to disconnect, slow down, and enjoy the moment.

Your hosts provide the boat transfer to and from the island – an experience in itself. Senja Moments operates Tranøy Gård and offers accommodation, dining, and activities.
