Stationen is a restaurant in the heart of Longyearbyen. We serve homecooked Norwegian food a longside international dishes in a nice athmosphere.

Our menu consists of both lunch and dinner courses. We also have a daily special, «dagens middag» which is a dinner based on traditional Norwegian food, but also with some international inspiration. We have a wide selection of drinks available, and you are welcome to ask our waiter for reccomendations that complements the food.

Stationen lies in a building that is a historical part of Longyearbyen's mining history. The shopping center Lompensenteret was a former wardrobe for miners. The corner where we are now housed the traditional cafè «Busen». Here the miners were served traditional Norwegian food together with good stories about everyday life in town.

We have taken the name Stationen from an important part of the archipelago's history, the whale hunting period. This period lasted from the early 17th- to the late 18th-century. All eyes in Europe were on Svalbard and the values marine mammals could offer. In large parts of Svalbard whale hunting stations were established, and it is from here we have taken the name Stationen. In our design and interior you will see that we express this great period in Svalbard history. And there is always a whale dish or two on the menu!

We look forward to seeing you!
