Northern Lights Chase

This tour is operated by Northern Norway Travel.

With our eco-friendly philosophy, delicious local food, hot drinks and cosy small-group sizes, we will take you on an Arctic journey you will never forget.

Our experienced driver and knowledgeable English-speaking guide will meet you at our Northern Norway Travel Shop at Tromsø Havn Prostneset. While we enjoy coffee and tea together, your guide will give you an introduction to the Northern Lights, followed by an overview of the evening’s plan.

Get comfortable in one of our Mercedes Sprinters as we begin our chase for the Green Lady. Once your guide has found the perfect spot to enjoy the Aurora Borealis, they will prepare a cosy campfire and serve premium hot chocolate, tea and coffee, along with a delicious meal prepared by one of our favourite local restaurants.

At some point during the evening, with a little bit of luck, the aurora will appear and time will stand still as you marvel at the magical display overhead. Your guide will take photos and help you set up your camera to capture the experience.

We will finish the evening with a sweet treat before driving back to the city and dropping you off at your hotel.

While you are dreaming about your Northern Lights experience, we will send you a selection of the best photos from the evening within 48 hours.

Included: Meeting point in the city centre, hotel drop-off, transport in a Mercedes Sprinter, experienced driver and knowledgeable English-speaking guide, an introduction to the Aurora Borealis, thermal suits in various sizes, campfire, premium coffee, tea and hot chocolate, a hearty reindeer stew made with local ingredients, cookies, photography tips, and one standard-quality digital aurora or winter portrait photo of your choice, delivered within 48 hours. Please bring: Warm clothing, a hat, gloves, warm boots, a camera, and a passport (in case we travel to Finland in search of clear skies)
