Fly fishing at Groven Mountain Lodge

At Groven Mountain Lodge we offer fly fishing courses / guided fly fishing.

Our courses are for beginners and consists of theory followed by practical fishing. The goal is that you should be able to learn basic casting techniques, knots, choice of flies, etc. After completing the course, you are likely to have enough knowledge so you can go fly fishing on your own.

Experience classic and exclusive mountain trout fishing. We have professional guides who have gained high level of expertise in fly fishing from a national and international marked. With this expertise and good local knowledge, they can teach you the joy and secrets of fly fishing whether you are a beginner or an expert.

In addition to the lodge there are boats, waters and beautiful river trails with high quality mountain trout. All waters are cultivated and catch & release is mostly practiced. The season is from the middle of june to september and the hatches are stabile with mayflies and caddis as the main focus.

Groven Mountain Lodge is located high above Skurdalsfjorden only 10 minutes from Geilo. With its 930 meters above sea level, you have a beautiful view over Skurdalsfjorden, Hallingskarvet and Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau.
