The Grammy-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gill Landry comes to Lille Ole Bull on 22 September as part of Bergen Live Sessions. Gill Landry is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist from Louisiana. He started his career as a street musician in New Orleans and along the American west coast, before joining Old Crow Medicine Show in 2004. Together with the band the journey went from touring in a van to Grammy wins and membership of the legendary Grand Ole Opry.
In 2015 Landry left the band to focus fully on his solo career. Through six solo albums he has developed a distinctive expression with roots in American folk, country and americana – from grand, cinematic arrangements to intimate and contemplative songs about love, loss and life on the road.
Landry has covered over one million miles on tour and shared the stage with artists such as Brandi Carlile, Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons, Ben Harper and Nathaniel Rateliff.
On his latest album, Cinnamon Canyon Blues, he draws inspiration from several years in near isolation at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. The result is a personal album about change, loss and new beginnings.
On 22 September you can experience Gill Landry in intimate surroundings at Lille Ole Bull during Bergen Live Sessions.
