Finland has traditionally received less attention as a beer nation than some of its neighbouring countries. Nevertheless, there is an established brewing tradition, and several Finnish breweries have been founded in recent years.
In 2022, Olaf Brewing launched the beer “OTAN” in connection with Finland’s NATO application. The name refers both to the French acronym for NATO and to the Finnish expression “otan olutta”, which can be translated as “I’ll have a beer”. The launch was covered by Norwegian media, including Framtida.no, and later referenced by Ølportalen.
Factory Brewing is a sub-label of ETKO Brewery, which was established in 2017. Under the Factory name, beer is produced in smaller series, while beers under the ETKO name make up the brewery’s main range.
