FESTIVAL at the SQUARE

On Saturday, July 11, all of Stjørdal is invited to Torget when Norway meets England in the World Cup quarter-finals.

The match will be shown on a big screen, and we hope the square will be filled with supporters in red, white and blue, cheering and real football joy.
This is an evening where the whole town can come together. Together we will create the atmosphere the national team deserves – and at the same time show what a fantastic town Stjørdal is when we stand shoulder to shoulder.

After an impressive mobilization between Stjørdal Municipality, the Værnes Region Business Association and a number of local stakeholders, the event has become a reality. In a short time, many have contributed time, resources and commitment. The result is a true volunteer project that shows what we can achieve when we work together to create life, activity and good experiences in the city center.

A big thank you goes to SpareBank 1 SMN, ONYX Eiendom, Vennatrø, Coop Midt-Norge and all other local contributors who have made the event possible. We would also like to thank the fire and rescue service and the police for their quick clarifications and good cooperation, so that we could get this in place.

Before the match starts, there will be activities organized by local football clubs. There will be music, face painting and food and drink for sale, so that the whole family can recharge for the match. At 8:30 pm we will warm up with a real RO!, before kick-off and hopefully 90 minutes of Norwegian football magic.

The event is an alcohol-free family event. Permission for public viewing of the match is granted on the condition that the event is alcohol-free, and this will affect the implementation.

This is about much more than football. It is about community, pride and creating life in the city centre. It is about showing what Stjørdal can achieve when business, the municipality, volunteers and residents play as a team. Maybe we will experience a historic moment for Norwegian football – together.
