Baaba Maal and Dande Lenol at the 40th Anniversary of Gambian Cultural Week in Oslo!

This year, the Gambian Association in Oslo celebrates 40 years since its founding in 1986 (the same year Rockefeller was established) – and the anniversary will be marked with a very special concert experience at Sentrum Scene on Friday, July 31!

The legendary Baaba Maal, one of Africa’s most acclaimed voices, comes to Oslo together with his band Dande Lenol. With his unique blend of traditional African music and modern influences, he has captivated audiences around the world for decades.

Many also know him from the music of the global blockbuster “Black Panther”, where his voice helped elevate the film’s powerful soundtrack. In addition, he performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2010, a testament to his international significance and ability to connect with people across cultures.
