Stephen Ackles pays tribute to Erik Bye

Together with two musicians, Stephen Ackles will take us on an exciting meeting with the globetrotter, celebrity, musician, sailor, journalist and man Erik Bye. But his warm narrative voice, fantastic singing voice and a twinkle in his eye make this a pleasant meeting between Stephen, the Chief and the audience.
Stephen Ackles will be able to celebrate 40 years as an artist in 2020. He will do this by paying tribute to Norway's biggest and only chieftain; Erik Bye. Stephen was already well-known at home in Brevik when, as a five-year-old, he stood on the garbage cans and sang "Then we play the harmonica". The boy refused to go to bed until he had finished watching the TV program "We are on board" or "Saturday night with Erik Bye" in the late 60's, early 70's.
Erik Bye has been a major and important part of Stephen's 40-year career as a musician. In addition to countless tributes in newspapers, radio and television, Erik and Stephen worked closely together for the last seven years of Bye's life, until his death in 2004. The headlines "The King met the chieftain" were repeated in a number of newspapers.
