Silent Night

"Silent Night" was originally written for lute. This is how the idea came to a moody acoustic Christmas concert with guitar duo and a song. The song, which has been touching hearts of generations around the world, originated in a village in Austria on Christmas Eve 1818 over 200 years ago. The organ in St. Nicolaus was off and to create a mood during the evening, organist and composer, Franz Xaver Gruber, created a song that could be sung to a single lute accompaniment. This is how the premiere of the world's most famous Christmas song "Silent Night" took place, a Christmas Eve in Oberndorf.
